2G Where can I buy an Intermediate Shaft?

Just got my first RUNNING DSM on Sunday. It's a '95 Eagle Talon TSI. First day on the road the Axel and Intermediate shaft failed, because the previous owner removed AC Bracket and never put a spacer in between the Intermediate Shaft Bracket and engine block, causing the shaft to be crooked.

So, anway...I need to order a new one. The local small auto parts store I deal with can get me the axle but nothing shows up for the Shaft. Is this something I have to go through a dealership for? If so, which? Dodge, Mistu?

Autozone, oreillys, napa, or your mitsubishi dealer.

I would try thedsmgraveyard.com if not youre going to pay an arm and leg for the Intermediate shaft from the dealer.

yes you can search the for sale section.I'm sure you can find one for next to nothing.

if you arent AWD then you don't need to run the intermediate shaft. just get the fwd half shaft. If the intermediate shaft went more than likely it did some damage on your cv joints

My car is an AWD, and it did destroy the cv joints.

Muddfisher, I wouldn't even know what to offer, I can't even get a price on these things. If you could, send me some detailed pics of the splines etc so I know I'm not buying a paperweight. No offense, Just wanna be safe.

Check the calssifieds and pm people doing partouts. Another good option is Gary at Mitsubishi Graveyard (Not DSM graveyard). I bought one on the classifieds about a year ago when I did my ELHS mod. I think I paid about $40 shipped for it just to give you an idea.

Just tried Mitsubishi graveyard, no luck. Seems like these damn things are extinct..

I used to work for auto zone and we can't even get them through our salvage dealers the only axle we could get is the super long 1 piece monster.

Eh. The axle took most of the damage. The splines on the axle side of the Shaft are a little boogered up. I may be able to file it down and still use it. I have a new axle on the way, though.

Resurrecting this as I am in DIRE need. 4 yr build derailed by a manual instead of auto shaft.
