1G When to upgrade fuel pump?

What do we look for that tells us we should change our fuel pump out for a better one?
I have link v3, stock internals 4g63t, 16g @15psi, BC cams, 3" turbo back, FIC 750cc in my 88 colt sedan(stock pump fed mpi with two injectors) sized 750 and 1150cc.
I am curious to see how far I can push the stock unit, I have a used walbro 180lph, which I might throw in if need be.
I would like to push the 16g up to 20psi, no more, The traction is already horrible as it is without a good tune.

Usually when your injector duty cycle is over 80%.

Back in the day my stock fuel pump couldn't even supply 15psi and a 14b. Walbro fuel pumps are so cheap and easy to install that it's pointless to not upgrade.

As stated above you anything over 80% injector duty cycle
Solution walbro 450 HP also suggest you do the pump rewire as well..

I will keep an eye out on duty cycle. Right now WOT third gear I have clutch slipping. Thanks for the input. I thought there was other variables to look for!

I don't want to grow! Traction is already an issue. I am stopping at my upgrades. Once it's tuned it's staying that way. The next upgrade is another car.

255 rewired and get rid of the banjo bolts on the fuel filter and rail. Should be plenty for you

Waiting on some -6an hose to arrive. Then I can change out stock filter and rail feed line to a Fuel lab kit.

You probably need better tires and suspension. My old Laser with s16g had severe traction problems until I bought some Nittos and agxs. It was a totally different car. Still had some wheel spin in 1st/2nd.
