When stopping i shouldn't...

When at a stop light or stop sign i shouldn't rest my feet on the clucth right? I was reading a few threads and this could lead to crankwalk and clutch problem..Is that true? So then when at a stop light should i put the car in neutral and press the brakes to stay still or is it okay to put my feet pressing down on the clucth in first gear?

Pretend the clutch pedal is made of uncooled, 4000° lava. That's how much your foot should be on it.

At a stoplight, shift to neutral and leave the clutch out. When the left turn lane goes (if it's one of the old-style, "nomal" intersections), shift to first when their light goes yellow. Bump 2nd before pushing into first.

It's unproven if "riding" the clutch pedal affects the liklihood of crankwalk. But keep your foot the hell off it. The dead pedal is for your left foot to sit on.

Resting you foot on the clutch pedal will lead to premature clutch disc failure LONG before crankwalk... and follow Defient's advice.
