okay i had finally got my idle problem to stop, but now it idles around 1100 and sometimes around 8-900. but now every so often, when im coming to a stop the car just dies. could it be that my negative battery cable isnt grounded to the car. i believe there are two grounds on these cars, but does it need both of them or is it something else.

The grounds to the car ARE important. I had a 90 Laser do this to me numerous times. Reconnect all your grounds and then try it out...

I personally built my grounding kit for about 30 bucks. I bought 4 guage wire and copper eyelets from Tractor Supply Depot and used a vice and some solder to connect them. It works -very- well and I couldn't be happier.

and so reconnecting my ground will fix my problem of the car shutting off when i go to stop

It doesn't sound to me like you have solved your idle problem. You should idle at 750 RPM. The ECU is going to try and make it idle at 750 when it sees the throttle closed (IPS switch) and the car isn't moving (VSS) by adjusting the ISC. If the car idles at 1100 then the ECU has driven the ISC (If the ISC is good) as far in as it can and still can't bring the speed down. It will be out of range the rest of the time so the ECU can't really keep the idle speed up when your driving and come to a stop. Normally the ECU would hold the idle at 1k after the throttle closes until you come to a stop and then it will drop to 750.

Well try it first, your grounds should be connected anyways. If not try resetting your idle once more, my ECU had went bad in my 90 Ply so I bought a new one, plugged it in an reset my idle for a car the ran like a champ afterwards.
