When flooring it-running 15-20 lbs of boost, problems

When I floor it at high boost pressure and high RPMs, my engine misfires or something. I don't know what it is but the engine just seems to stop so I slow down. Does anyone know what this problem is?
 
could be ignition, could be fuel cut... start with the basics and easiest first, boost leak test, set the timing. Check you plugs and plug wires, could be a weak fuel pump... What other symptoms, is the boost creaping, will it break up intermitingly?
 
I just went driving some on High boost to see what would happen. Nothing happened just now, it was running fine. Before when it happened it was when I was accelerating, hard, from a complete stop. I was most likely running about 17 pounds of boost.
 
I hope you have the supporting mods to be running 17lbs on a daily basis...

When you say the engine misfires or something, do you mean the car jerks at WOT or do you just hear it misfire out the exhaust?

1. With the mods listed in your profile, you should not be capable of running 17lbs. of boost. Fill out your profile so we can figure out what's going on.

2. What do you mean MOST LIKELY RUNNING 17lbs?! If you don't have a boost guage, turn down your boost and get one before doing anything else.

3. Do some research before fudging around with your car. It's cases like these that beat the crap out of these machines and down the road people complain of "unreliablility."
 
Just check everything, I had a problem same as this getting fuel cut at high rpm and I already had a 190 walbro fuel pump with stock injectors. I found out a couple days after that my alternator fried and my wires were corroded. Alternator wasn't being able to give enough power to my engine and that was the last thing I would of thought to cause the problem. Ran two new power wires and rebuilt alternator. Car's ran fine ever since at 15-16 lb of boost even going to red line no fuel cut. Check everything for possibilities, even your fuel pump and fuel filter.
 
I am running 18psi on mine and had the same problem ,came to realize I had a boost leak ,it would fall on it face at wot fixed the boost leak and problem solved , like everyone said check for leaks ,:thumb:
 
had this same exact problem two three days ago- checked everything, plugs, wires, boost leaks, etc. turns out one of the little metal clips that hold the injector plugs on was missing and the plug was not seated all the way and under hard acceleration it was losing connection. i see your running a 97 so you dont have the metal clips but i would check to see if they were snapped all the way.
