Engine Cough when flooring it

I don't know what this is called so it was hard to search for but anyway. I have a 95 gst with sbr motor 3" gm maf and maft translator with a turboXS mbc set to 14.5 psi. This only happens sometimes but whenever I floor it (or almost floor it) my car will hit between 10-14.5psi before the car starts losing power in split second bursts which i can only describe as like the car is coughing, but after 2-5 "coughs" its fine. Anyone have this or know how to fix it?

Someone told me to check my sparkplugs and wires or my fuel filter. I'm just going to buy new plugs for it and see if that changes anything first but id appreciate any suggestions at all because I'm thinking of selling this thing for a 350z

I would go with process of elimination on it.

Check your plugs, wires, and fuel filter first.

But, it almost sounds like your starting to hit fuel cut. Have you done a boost leak test lately?

Sounds like your engine is misfiring

check resistences with a multimeter of your plugs n wires, that will eliminate the need to buy new wires if your resistences are within spec...


Also with the maf translator try adjusting the WOT knob counter clockwise 1... do another wot pull and see if its gets better or worse...

thanks guys for your replies guys, I am without a logger right now since my pocket logger decided to stop working but i tried enrichining the wot and it does help but its not gone, the coughs are a lot smoother and subtler, I believe i'm at the last click on the WOT knob so I'll have to see if anything else fixes it. I checked the spark plugs and checked the gap and they seem fine, the wires are still fairly new too but i'll see if i can borrow a multimeter for it.
