So it turns out i need a new wheel bearing for my 92 GSX (front left) which was originally an ABS car. I used my non ABS 91 GSX car to facilitate the delete.

My question is, would I be able to use the good wheel hub on my parts car (91 non ABS) to replace my failing bearing/hub on my now ABS deleted car (92, has ABS hubs).

Another question, are FWD and AWD hubs/bearings the same. On some sites looking for these parts they only list the GST and not the GSX and that goes also for ABS/non ABS.

So far everything seems to tell me that they are specific but I have a feeling they are not, just not trying to spend all the time breaking my knuckles to find out it doesnt fit. Thanks.

If your ABS is gone, the hubs are completely interchangeable. The only difference is the attachment holes for the ABS tone ring.

Thanks for the reply. i will go ahead and cannibalize the 91 hub and install it on the 92 car and report back with issues if any arise. Thanks.

Now does anyone have any insight into gst ans gsx front hubs being the same part number?

Perhaps I was not clear enough. All 1g front hubs are interchangeable except for ABS tone ring mounting holes. If ABS is not a factor, they are all interchangeable.

This is assuming by "hub" you actually mean the hub- just the part that the lug studs mount in, that presses into the front bearing (not the entire knuckle/bearing/hub assy., those are not all the same).

Ah, I think I understand. I think I was referring to the hub assembly as a whole part. The part I was talking about is the one that the front axles slides through, lower control arm connects to, and every brake part attaches to. This is called a hub assembly? And the hub itself is just the piece that the lugnuts attach to that it pressed into a bearing in the hub assembly? does this sound right?

so what i understand is that entire piece will not be interchangeable but the hub may be. sounds like i just need to get a new bearing or something then.

Yes, that is probably your best bet. The actual "steering knuckle" part is different between AWD and FWD. Unfortunately, these bearings and hubs require pressing apart. Maybe this illustration will help.

Not to be tragically confused constantly, but if both cars are AWD (91gsx,92gsx), than the steering knuckles that house the bearings and wheel hub should be the same part right (minus abs issues)? So shouldnt they be interchangeable? I feel retarded right now, apologies.
