Ok this will be my third time changing my passenger front wheel bearing. I mean the first time i cheaped out and bought a junkyard bearing i know dumb on my part but that damn wheel looked like it was about to fall off and and didn't have time to wait for 1 shipped.

So the 2nd one i got a brand new in which i replaced about a month ago. Well today i take my car to get some tires and the guys go to take me wheel off and come out and say they cant do it cause my wheel bearing is shot. I'm like yea right i just changed it. Sure as shit i go look at it and i can move the wheel about 1 1/2 in any direction.

So my question is what could possible cause me to be eating bearings like crazy. I mean a month and its already worn out. only suspension mods i got is the pro kit springs w/kyb struts. I'm at loss as what could possibly cause this. Any help would be great, cause at a 100 bucks a pop they get pretty expensive after replacing a couple.

I tightened it down and turned it a 1/2 turn back and put the cotter pin in. shoudl i just torque it to a set pd and not losen it a 1/2 turn.

They should be torqued between 144-185 ft lbs. going to the nearest torque where you can slide a pin in the whole. You should never half turn back.

^^^ I think you found your answer. Design on these bearings is a bit different than what it sounds like you've seen before. To your credit, what you described is exactly how I have to torque the hub nuts on my boat trailer. Pays to check the specs, though. ;)

Thanks guys greatly appreaciate the help. Now i just hopes this solves my problem and im not out there again replaicng it in a month.

Quick question, the bearing i got and recently installed has a year warrenty, you think it would still be covered or am i sol.
