Wheel and tire fitment opinions

Im looking at getting some 18inch rota grids on my car with some new rubber, im trying to decide what offset to get, how wide to go and tire size to fit my car. Some info on the car is...its a 97 2g gsx with kyb struts on stock springs, i have a set of prokit springs waiting to be put on when i get the tires and wheels and a alignment. my question is how wide of a a rim should i go and the offset? and id like a tire that is a little wider then the rim and not the opposite, So what size of tire should i run also? i dont mind pounding in the rear quarterpanel lip a little to fit. I kinda want the agressive look like in the pic i post but i know i need to clear my knuckle and upper balljoint also, how the bolting surface sticks in and the outer lip sticks out at more of a angle but i wanna make sure they fit too. Let me know what you guys think and your opinions

The reason that I didn't answer before is that 18s make no sense and I'm tired of saying that. But, if you insist: 18s make no sense.

Plus, you're going about this backwards. You choose the tires first and then get wheels to make them happy. You don't choose wheels first unless the rules under which you race force you to.

well i like the look of 18's but still might get 17's too have some sidewall, see discount tire owes me a free set of any tires i want (gonna get the best of the best for dd and all season), and owe me a set of rims for half price, so im trying to decide what size and width n offset look good but I'd like my offset to look like the pic i posted.

Find wheels, make car fit.

Thats the number one rule.

Ive fit 17x9s on my Gvr4. Not sure what offset. Tips to make them fit are stretched tires. Rolling fenders. Spacers. Etc etc. You can make pretty much any wheel fit within reason. Ive got MB Weapons on my GVR4.

Well since no one will give him a real answer I will. If you roll and pull the fenders in the front I think you can fit some +20 rota grids 18x9 but thats pushing it. Without doing crazy fender mods you can fit 18x9.5 with a +25 or +30 in my opinion if you get RPf1s in 17x9 +35 that will look perfect.

heres blackgsx2g's car lowered with grids 18x8.5 i think but not sure of the offset i think its around the 40's and 235-40-18 tires, iv been stalking him trying to find what paint code and make he used to paint his car

the evox i posted earlier those are Rota Grid's 18x9.5 +20 on 245/40/18 and i like that look but i dont think they will fit on my car once my prokit is installed (lowers 1.3) but id like the more dish'd look of the +20 offset but not sure if they will fit. im fine with doing some rolling but not something that is aggressive and i hate the look of the streched tires i like the wider tire then the rim.

Yes, 18x9s in a +20 will be fine on a 2G without any mods to the rear fenders.

Unless you plan to run tires, as well.

OP: you should know that Evo Xs are geared shorter, which is why they can run 245/40/18s. A DSM is better off on 245/40/17 on a +38 or so, so steal the wheels from an Evo 8 or 9, instead of an X.

im buying the tires and wheels brand new i was just going off of the stance and used that pic to show the offset and how much dished that wheel was compared to blackgsx2g's offset, can anyone give me a real answer on what size i should run that can give me a good dished look like that evox that will fit my car and a proper size tire for it also? thats all im trying to find out, if i could test fit over and over that they had them in stock i would but i gotta custom order.
