well just like the tittle states whats your opinion on obx headers? ive heard good and bad, but the price really fits my budget. im trying not to spend over 200 bucks on headers and these are looking the best so far. :thumb:

This is the "Non Turbo" forum, try using the "N/T-Turbo conversion" forum.
and yeah it will probably get closed.

ha, i owned you, you tryed to make a smart ass remark, and it backfired, LOL  . He is non-turbo, sure he is 2g, but he is non-turbo, and OBX headers are widely avaiblable on ebay. I also want to get some feedback from people that own them, or have owned them. They look damn good, my only thing is, will they crack, like pacesetter??

WTF?

No they will not crack, I have had my ssautochrome headers on for about a year now and no cracks up to date.

Mine's been holding up fine. It gets really hot. Additionally, it won't stay that shiny stainless steel you see online. It will weather...alot.

Oh and when you install them wear gloves so that hte oil from your fingers wont burn into the header like it did on mine

I just bought a OBX header like a week ago and i love it. If ur thinking of getting one, i would say to do it, it seemed like it helped me out alot. It changed the sound of my exaust a little to but for the better i think.

i just got an obx header a couple weeks ago too, and im happy with it as well...got it for $165 from eracingzone.com

Ok i got a question! will this header work on a 1G with out modifying stock exhaust.... if not does anyone know who makes headers besides pacesetter for a 1g NT

OBX does make 1g headers to, thats what i am getting next spring.

i just installed mine today, and DAMN can i tell a difference. Granit i cant tell to much considering the icee and snow but i love and do reccomend it, for those on a budget. :talon:

Yep alot of people will down these OBX header/downpipe but I've had mine for almost a year and no leaks or cracks and my exhaust sound is MUCH throatier plus I definately felt more low-end torque (w/ test pipe, cat-back and different muffler).

I'm not going to spend $1000 to replace the complete exhaust system on a car I paid around $3000 for.

Is it pointless to change the headers if you want to add a turbo later ? I was looking at some Greddy headers for around $350 and the OBX's for $165 ( more my budget!!! ) but I am planning on adding a turbo this summer. So will that make the stock or aftermarket OBX's useless ?

yes

So my AEM V2 CAI is useless as well?! Should I order headers for a 99 turbo then since I will be adding a turbo in a few months? I know the engine setup is different between the n/ts vs. the turbos but will aftermarket OBX's ( and cai) that are made for turbos fit my 99 gs n/t with turbo ??

yes. NO! still NO!

i have the tsudo but there the same damn thing. there all based off the greddy design. i didnt feel any difference, but noticed a sound difference. they get the job done.

on a side note... does anyone ever get the feeling that a bunch of us NT guys feel their "gains" in there heads? like i saw one guy say he felt a difference from his new fuel rail  dont look for a gain, let the gain find you.

Im lost!! so the aftermarket parts wont fit once i get a turbo but neither will the parts for a turbo. what should i do then ? if the oem parts fit with a turbo then why wouldnt the better aftermarket parts ? yo man sorry for stepping on your post just needing some help

Here is what you should do.
If you are going to buy a turbo kit, dont waste money on headers or intake. IF you are going to go all motor, then buy the bolt on parts for the car.
Oem parts dont fit with a turbo.. for instance

Turbo kits need a special turbo exhaust manifold (or turbo header) to bolt up to the turbocharger, your stock exhaust manifold or header (whichever you have) will be replaced with this turbo exhaust manifold when you buy a turbo kit, and the intake will be rerouted over to the turbo inlet, making the cold air intake unusable (also the stock intake unusable, as you will then have a charge pipe hooked up to your throttle body)

Here is your exhaust system on a n/t 420a car.
Header, downpipe, catalytic converter, catback then muffler

Here is your exhaust system on a turbo 420a car.
short exhaust manifold (with turbo flange), TURBO, downpipe, catalytic converter, catback then muffler

420a turbo kits dont use an o2 housing do they? im unsure about this.

the turbo parts wont fit because there not just turbo parts, there 4g63 turbo parts. turbo parts arent universal, the piping and manifolds and other stuff are still application specific.
