Whats this? Is a 4 Channel Ignition Amplifier Required for COP?

Alright, I purchased a Dynatek ARC-2 ignition amplifier several years ago, right when they first came out with them and decided to convert to a COP setup since I had the extra ignition power to drive the system. Well I've had repeated issues of the box burning out or something of that sort after only a couple thousand miles of use. A quick explanation of what the ignition does after several thousand miles of use is that it will begin to cause the ECU to pull (or advance) timing, bottom end power will increase and top end power will decrease. After a hundred or so miles of this the symptoms will get worse, the ECU will pull or add even more timing to the extent that under any acceleration at all the car will miss, backfire, buck, stutter and blow black smoke out the exhaust. At this point I am forced to disconnect the ARC-2 and run my COP setup straight from the stock ignitor, and all the problems will go away.

So after the last time this happened (only a couple weeks ago) I have been in contact with Dynatek and they are once again going to service my ARC-2 unit. However I noticed while I was on their website the other day, they no longer suggest this amplifier be used with a 4 coil COP setup.
So here's my question, do I need to get a different ignition amplifier, one that is suggested for a 4 coil ignition system such as a MSD DIS-4? Or, since the stock ignition system was originally a 2 coil system, am I ok with running the ARC-2?

No, just get a better CDI unit. I, along with many others, have had the ARC-2 die for no reason after barely any use. It is a good unit, when it runs, but it doesn't last for crap and to me that is inexcusable. Mine died on stock coils, so it's not a problem with running 2 coils off each channel. If you were to go with a 4 channel CDI then you need an engine computer that outputs 4 ignition channels, or you could pair up the signals. I gave my dead ARC-2 away for free and went back to stock after I saw a bunch of other stories. I don't need the headache.
