For IC piping you would want to run aluminum preferablly as it will not rust, it's very light and dissapates heat very quickly.
 
you can do that with either. alum can be a pain to weld
 
Stainless will work although it's going to be about 20lbs heavier and will hold and absorb heat and hold it which is bad.
 
I know its ugly but pcv pipe does not heat up and is very strong.

Sure PVC is strong, but how are you going to seal the system? Use PVC joints and not allow movement in the piping from engine movement? Over time it'll crack IMO and you are right, it's VERY UGLY.
 
the only problems with sealing a pvc system would be at bends where you need to join pipe. pvc would be a lot cheaper. aluminum is probably the best because it sheds heat. pvc will not soak in engine heat, but it also won't get rid of boost heat. copper would be the next step, and the ultimate would be silver.
 
i'd imagine it would be safe for whatever the rated temperature of that particular piece is. pvc gives off hydrochloric acid when it burns, not when it is simply hot.
 
I just used some mandrel bent exhaust tubing and had it ceramic coated. Won't rust anytime soon, easy to weld if needed and cheap.

Gotta becareful with certain exhaust piping. Galvanized steel which is commonly used to make exhausts is TOXIC when welding. It produces gas that when inhaled is very bad for you.
 
I wouldn't use that. Your factory hoses would hold up to heat better than that would.

In my Opinion, You would be happier using full aluminum. That said, you don't want it completely solid, because the motor moves when you rev shift or get boost. You'd end up breaking the piping. The joints allow of flexing and the aluminum transfers heat easier.

That said, remember, you get what you pay for.

well I want it solid from gm mass air to the front mount. also will be powder coating piping after welded

they make the same pipe in 304 stailess also if that would help
