okay so my obd2 port is not reading.

code readers get power but dont ever read, and my dsmlink cant connect

im assuming a connection issue with the obd port

whats the best way to fix this?

it was suggested to me to find a new port and splice all the harness wires into a new connector.

i would like to avoid that because that will be a pain in the ass with so many wires and such a small space to work, i dont fit under the dash very well :)

but if thats the only way, i will do it, anyone know where to get a replacement obd2 port?

i need my dsmlink to be able to connect this weekend

ideas?

thanks!

I guess you could splice but i wouldn't do that. Maybe cut off a used obd port off a junkyard car. Then slide out each pin and ad it to your other obd port so you wouldnt have to cut any cables or you could first try the easier route and get yourself electrical parts cleaner at your nearest auto parts store and clean your pins. Maybe your having a faulty contact from a dirty pin. I'm not a pro but i might have done it this way.

I had a similar problem caused by corrosion on the back of the fuse box under the dash. Not saying that could be causing your issue or not, but I was not getting power to the obd port either. Just something to look into...
