Two weeks after buying my 95 Esi the shifter bracket broke while shifting into 2nd. Ironically my friend pulls up behind me and we pull the car home. Three days later I replace the bracket and think my car is back to normal. Some friends and I go on a 'victory cruise' and the car dies on the highway. Probably timing belt and valves. I'm out of money for now also. I've had the car for 3 weeks now. Still love it!

bought a car in d.c. about 350 miles from home...
radio was displaying code, and sunroof wast tight
We ended up leaving about 9 so i had to make the 5 hour trip with no tunes and tons of road noise..
half way through clutch started acting up, resvoir was empty. For some odd reason the gas station on the turn pike did have brake fluid. filled it up and made it back...

I tested drive my dsm before i was going to buy it and it was nice. I paid the guy and i was really happy. I was in my way home when it just died on me. I had to push the car for 2 miles home.

I had a wheel fly off my car on the way home after stopping buy my garage to install some shocks and drops springs to replace the worn out ones. This was within 12hrs of buying the car.

ummm uhhhhh, when i went to get my oil changed the guy dident see how i could drive my car seeing hoe my break rotors were all rusted. *knocks on wood*

Well its either when I "drifted" on an icy road and hit a brand new chevy malibu head on or when my transmission literally exploded

When i bought my eclipse and i had to drive 2k km back way home everything was smooth and i was very happy with my new ride....but after 3 mounts and another 2-3k km a conical bearing from gearbox cracked and destroy everything inside except 2 tooth wheels and made a gig hole in the case. I had to order a new one from Usa and all the fun cost me 3.5k $. :hellyeah:

Ok so I own a 1ga N/A. First DSM owned. Paid 400 for the car, drove 130 miles to pick it up and drive it home. when i got there i noticed the battery was fried, and it was idling rough, luckily i brought some plugs, and could buy a battery from down the road. And After changing plugs, and battery drove 5 minutes down the road. And it died, would start until it cooled down. Had to go get a trailer haul it back, and found that the check engine light was flickering on and off like a light bulb being messed with. First thought, ECU. Guess what, ECU. changed it and drives. fine. car is in decent condition. Put a set of 5 spoke gst rims on it. and have a set of 1gen turbo rims. Came with alarm and electric start. Now it's time to upgrade to turbo.

I bought a 98 rs ran great for 5 days then it stared smoking, and idle is low and it's stalling everytime I stop. Now I want it gone... Now I got a 97 GSX. Day later I learn the alternator is shot, overheating and a knocking or ticking in engine. Not to mention stuff for alignment and steering isn't even connected.

Update. The knocking was a rod missing bearing. So went to a 6 bolt swap bored over with JE 05 pistons and 1g rods. Now to re-route my dump tube to exhaust. And a new clutch soon. 1/3 the way I want it.

drove my car for about a month, needed a water pump, took it to the shop my mom worked at, a mechanic there screwed up my timing, month later (altercations with the owner and him not wanting to pay for his mechanic F*****G up) the day its on the road again transmission goes out, get that rebuilt, another month after spun rod bearing, will it ever end?? haha

I tried to redo the interior of my car myself and epic fail, so I having it redone by a professional.

ive been in 3 accidents with this car........ none of which were my fault and i keep fixing her. i think this thing is cursed. im considering striping the interior and making it track use only..... i just love driving her every day

I had waited months to find the "right" DSM. My car was over 100 miles away sitting at some tiny dealership but I had to have it. It took a good week to negotiate the car for the price I wanted, giving a deposit, yadda yadda. Needless to say it was a major headache. I finally get the car, drive the 100 miles back home and walk inside my parents house to go show my pops the cool car I just bought. We walk outside and he asks me to start her up. I put the key in and... nothing, the car wouldn't start LOL that's a true story, and definately sets the tone for my DSM ownership.

15 minutes after paying and signing the paperwork for mine... it overheats on me... on the freeway.... 4 hours away from home[bought mine in Los Angeles, I live in Fresno]! so I had to get it towed the rest of the way home..... so much for saving money by driving to the good deal right??? :ohdamn:

I bought a 97 spyder GST for $2000 with a ruined interior...so i replaced the interior and thought it would be good then my turbo when out so i bought a 16g ebay turbo(NEVER DO THAT) and installed it only to find out i have a crack in the exhaust manifold... so i fix that as well and about a week later or so my crank sensor went up

I went to pick up this i asked out a few days earlier. Pulled in the driveway, went to the door, talked to the parents a bit, come back out, and my car wouldnt start. Her dad comes out to look at it, and after about 30 minutes of us inspecting it he reaches the conclusion that i shoulda bought a civic. WTF

So I bought my talon from some lil emo kid . . . LOL first mistake. It had been rallied into a curb damaging the right rear wheel bearing, no big deal. The timing belt was bad enough I am suprised it didn't break on the test drive . . . Another $200, 24 PBR's n alot of cussing later later I figured it was good to go and was . . . well for about a week. Then I noticed the engine randomly starting to get hot sometimes. Then almost uncontrollably overheating. Seems like a head gasket right?? Nope burnt valve. So another couple hundred bucks a few cases a PBR later I really thought I'd be good for awhile. The good news is I got to get on it enough to find out it feels like all four of my rotors are warped. And finally I noticed a nice deep knocking sound that got worse with load and rpm. UH oh there goes a rod or at least the bearings. So my boss at the time talks me into taking to his mechanic. He charged me almost $400 to put new rod bearings in it. This story ends about 25 miles from his shop still ten miles from home in the pouring down rain with an engine that sounded like two dozen bolts in a blender. What a way to enter into dsm ownership again. The car has been sitting for several months now because I have been to9 pissed off to even look at it LOL but have now bought a 90 tsi awd parts car and will be doing a 6 bolt swap

Bought my car for $1200 cash. I was driving it home from portland thats about 1 hour and 20 minutes from home, anyways i'm driving it home with what i didn't know was a defective ecu LOL still ran fine but codes shown, HERE is the funniest freaking part........READY? The damn oil filter blows off!WTF oil spews all on the underside of my car I see the whiteish smoke( it was night fall ) I'm looking at my gauges and I see the oil pressure drop I shut the car off and coasted to the nearest parking lot. ?I thought I blew a return line.... Nope the oil filter gasket blew out. I had AAA But i thought it was funny after, when I figured all I had to do was replace the filter and add New oil " Not the best way to do an oil change" I'll say I killed two birds with one stone, undercoated and rust proofed my car and did an oil change:thumb:

I realized that my old 2g NT was faster than my GSX considering it doesn't and hasn't run since the day after I bought it:(
