hey,
i have a 1991 eagle talon tsi awd,
i recently got a evoIII big 16g and am wondering if i can just take my 14g and slap on the 16g, will it fit perfectly just where the 14g was or what am i gunna have to do? just running stock boost with these:
apexi bov
magna flow exhaust
autometer boost gauge
act clutch 2600

those are the mods on my car, wut else do i need to put this turbo on my car so there will be no problems.

If you have a 2g you would need a install kit, but since you have a 1g it should be a direct bolt on to replace your 14b. Don't forget to get your support mods to take advantage of that bigger turbo.

You have a 1G so nothing else is needed, but I recommend that you replace all crush washers, and the turbo to manifold gasket, and soak the turbo to manifold bolts with a penetrant such as PB blaster the day before the installation.

On the up side, even running stock boost, I noticed a significant decrease in spool time after moving to a ported Big16G. Is yours a proper Evo III, with the 7cm housing? Hopefully it's not one of the cheap chinese ones, with 'EVO III GT' on the compressor housing.

And definitely soak the bolts with something to un-freeze them if at all possible. I had two break, because I wasn't patient... and hardness 8 bolts will easily break most drillbits. Luckily I had another exhaust housing. :)

if i reamber right the apexi bov isnt recirculating. cant you use your 1g bov??
soak all your bolts, install new oil lines (peice of mind) washers, gaskets, port the manny and 02 housing. if you can afford a meagan downpipe now would be an excelent time to install one!! :thumb:

you'll hit fuel cut realllly fast if you turn up the boost on your stock setup. you should be fine if you set your boost around 13psi.

you wont beable to use the turbo to its full potentual untell you upgrade your fuel delevery system and get a air/fuel controller and logger. so in short, to run the car like a raped ape you'll need to spend some cash!

hey thanks for the info, any other helpful tips out there from anyone>? like in wut i should go for with my car....like wut mods?

rewire the fuel pump at least, or get an aftermarket one, with some nice injectors....

what i will be doing is getting a 3kgt or supra fuel pump, and some evo 8 injectors used, that will be cheap as hell...
