My car has been sitting for a few years now and i am ready to get it back up and running. Before the car became a lawn ornament, it jumped time because of a faulty auto tensioner and a few other things. I removed the head from the car to get an idea of what damage had been done and it appears as if the pistons are fine but i can't tell how the head is. The valves appear to be straight but from what i have read, if a car jumps time, it is almost guaranteed to bend some valves. Now onto my question:
I am looking to get the car running again and can't decide which would be cheaper/easier...having a local machine shop rebuild the head or buying one from a running vehicle. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
