My first choice for a car has always been a dsm, but unfortunately i didnt have the cash for the gsx, so im stuck with and 97 gst automatic with 54000 miles. Ive put some work into it, Evo 3(not on yet but have) greddy catback, BOV, and injen intake. My question now is do i put the evo 3 on and upgrade the fuel system and intercooler, or use the money to do an AT to MT swap. Ive been goin back and forth between the both of them and really want performance upgrade but feel like a chick with the automatic. Thanks guys

Personally, I like the 5spd better... I just feel more "in control" of the car. However, if my DSM was an auto, I definitely wouldn't shell out the money to switch it to a manual tranny. IMHO, its really not worth it! I'd spend that money on the turbo upgrade and supporting mods.

Why did mitsu make automatic dsm's?? Can anyone tell me this??

Well you need to either stick with the auto and add a shift kit + tranny cooler or change over to manual you decide.

However I wouldent even bother putting the 16g on untill you have an upgraded fuel system at least, prefferably with a tuning devince and a least a logger.
