you dont NEED a built motor to run 11s, but it helps, just like a welded diff will lower your ETs a bit, you dont need it but you have it

How would a welded center diff lower my ETs? Should it help my launching in some way because so far, my launching still sucks. Again, I did it for the dyno not for a performance benefit. I'm not being a smartass, I'm honestly asking?

well i dont know why you just didnt do an insert....but it should make you launch harder with the 50/50 split in power

i know its recommended that all out drag cars do it but apparently your 12 second car needs it

Dude what is your problem with me? I did not buy a VCE because I didn't want to spend $150 on something when I probably would have ended up getting it welded eventually anyway. I took the advice of my tuner, Buschur Racing, and went on their recommendation. They explained to me the drawbacks of driveability and I decided to do it because its not a daily driver. There is more than one way to get a car in the 11s. Some people bolt a big ass turbo on and some people take pride in squeezing every once out of a 14B or 16G. I have respect for anyone that can make our cars go in the 11s, regardless of how they do it. I don't care if someone wants to criticize me and say that I should be faster than I am with the mods I have. As long as they are faster than me. Its easier said than done. I used to say the same thing to myself 2 years ago when I watched people from a distance. Now that I'm doing it, I understand how challeging it can be. I personally think a 12.25 on my setup with a stock 2G motor and nonstandalone is pretty good. Are you the 1 guy(maybe there's 2) thats running 11s on your 14B? If not, then PM me if you've got a problem with me and leave the rest of the forum out of it.

nope im not running 11s, im actually on stock fuel until i can get more cash, but low 12s shouldnt be hard when i do have a fuel system

im saying the same thing you are, there is more than one way to go about building our cars, and i recommended to this guy the way i am doing it because i believe in being able to bolt on a bigger turbo and be able to run any amount of boost you want without limitation do to not having an adequate fuel system, a FMIC, or anything like that, you like to do it a different way, different opinions = arguments

first of all this is a newbie question that doesnt belong in the advanced performance section.

So basically, if you read all the literature on DSMs out there, you'll find that you need all this for a mid 12 sec. car:

2g Manifold (or better)
2g o2 housing (or better)
2.5" downpipe (mandrel bent)
Port all exhaust parts
3" test pipe or high flow cat
3" cat back (mandrel bent)
clutch upgrade
K&n Filter
MBC
Fuel Pump Upgrade (w/ rewire)
4-bolt rear end
boost guage
pocketlogger (or similar device)
Aftermarket Upper Intercooler pipe

All that is pretty much the minimum you need for steady 12 second passes.

To go 11's, you're going to need:
Turbo upgrade (for 99% of people)
660cc injectors or better
intercooler upgrade
some kind of fuel management (I prefer GM translator).
good tuning using logger/dyno time

Stock head/block will be just fine for 11's, and your transmission may or may not need rebuilding, depends on the driver and condition of the tranny.

learn some good grammar/spelling too. Communication goes a long way, especially on a forum.

Its not all about "what parts I need to buy to hit 11s." Its all about tuning! Even If you do have the money to buy all the parts do you have the knowledge to tune them. My friend Jake "evil eagle" ran a 12.8 @112 and all he had was a STOCK TURBO disconnected down pipe, boost controller, k&n, p.o.s. starion front mount, and s-afc/550 s, and drag radials.
There are some guys that cant hit that with a 20g!
Its ALL about KNOWING WHAT YOU DOING! I am not dissing on you but hitting 11s is harder than it sounds!
check out evil eagle's profile (He definatly does not have the same set up that he use to!)

get a manual boost controller, upper ic pipe, drop your hole exhaust, put on a 100 shot dry of course. crank your boost to 30psi
