What year ECU

Just use all of your '92 electronics (Throttlebody, TPS, CAS, CoilPack, Power Transistor) and keep the '92 ecu and wiring harness. You don't want to go with the '90's electronics.

cant i just use the 90 ones?

Not unless you like having long term problems caused by using obsolete unique parts.
Just use the 90 motor as a long block and put the later parts (those listed before plus the fuel rail and throttle body) and harness on it.

but the engine i got has all of that stuff. cant i wire up my harness to it? with a 90 ecu?

No you have a 92 NT harness in the car. The connectors for the 1990 items listed are different than was in the car. Your better off in the long run with the 91+ parts and you should be able to take most them from your old engine.

You'll also have to make changes to support the turbo engine regardless of what year so you have hook up the turbo MAF and the turbo injector resistor pack.

Many parts from the 90 model year are unique. They're a pain in the butt to deal with. You're better off running the electronics from your current engine + any other that you need.

Basically, if you have a choice between an electronic part off the 90 engine, and the electronic part off your engine, take the one off your engine.

Do a search for 90 ecu and see the problems those people run into. The wiring for them is different than the 91-94 cars.

so i can run an 91-94 ecu on my 90 engine that i am going to swap

If you listen to the suggestions already made yes.
If you insist on using the 90 PTM and coil then your going to have issues and not just with the ECU.

but i could swap them later and is the TB on the n/t the same size on the turbo?

No and no. But since you have to do something about the intercooler and piping so the N/T TB is something you could start with and upgrade later.
