Ok this is my setup:
1995 TSI AWD Turbo: Dejon upper IC pipes, Dejon air intake, 1G BOV, JoeP MBC, rewire walbro 190 FP, K&N open air filter, 3" cat-back exhaust, 2.5 straight pipe(still stock DP), 02 dump housing, 450cc injectors, EVO III 16G turbo, NGK6's, SAFC, B&M short shifter with Greddy counter weight knob, HKS turbo timer, Symborski Shift kit, Phantom Boost/VAC guage and A/F guage.

few quick questions, first off with the 190 FP and the SAFC at defult settings will that hurt anything ? A/F read lean all the time ??


Second off what would you do with the setup i have if you DID NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING ELSE TO IT !!!! I am getting drained with the perfomrace mods. The car holds its own as it. Even with the stock clutch and the body looks like SHI#. So i wanted to sink my money into just body work. Am i crazy ?
 
If your happy with the performance then why not make it look good. It can be an overall nice car. Besides, once you are done with the body you will feel the need to go faster...just give it time.
 
atleast get a little bit bigger injectors, fuel pressure regulator (cheap), and atleast a 2.5" downpipe. all of that should be around $400...which is still quite a bit in my books, but it'll make room to turn up the boost a little bit more and get more power. But ya, go for the body mods if that's what you're into.
 
i know , i got 550 before but they where bad. I was thinking MAYBE buying 550 then tuning the AFC for that and i should be fine...
 
get a logger and see if you are knocking... then tune it away... nobody know's if you are knocking or not right now.. u could be messin your car up... find someone with a logger if you dont want to get your own..... i say 2.5" downpipe, fuel pressure regulator and injectors (650's)... if you have the full exhaust and the fuel upgrades you can always run higher boost.... but if you get a frontmount or something then you wont be able to without the fuel to compinsate it.... if you like the car how it pulls now and are stressin about the looks then get that car lookin hot and be satisfied with what you want to do man.... your car is your project and you set it up how you want to... paint it taffy pink for all i care... you will always get the looks from the girls with a clean car and you will get them hot when they fell the pull of the turbo puttin them back in the seat!!! haha just messin around

well i do have a logger (dont know how to really use it) but its a 2G so i cant measure knock anyway ! :(

I NEED SOME LOOK MAN. The entire time i had the car i did perfomace (learning doing myself) so it slowly came along. Now i want looks , i never had the clean talon look
 
Hi,

I would get 550cc injectors to start. Then a wide band. Finally get it tuned!
My thought on your thread is that if your gauge reads lean all the time, that's major bad. You can fry your engine with to lean condition. Pay some extra money to get it tuned if you don't know how to do it.
You can save your money and put it into looks. But what are you going to do with your looks when can't drive your car anymore because of a fried engine?
And yes it will hurt when you keep the settings on default. You need to adjust them accordingly with your setup.

you can't see knock on a logger in a 2g all you see is the timing being retarded when the ecu detects knock. You say your running lean all the time. Is this according to your a/f ratio gauge? If so, when was the last time you replaced the o2 sensor? It's probably no good anymore. What are you boosting? I say if your not "hurting" your motor from detonation then leave it the way it is and get to work on the body. I personally think your in the green with the performance mods. Good luck :thumb:
 
Well i had the motor replaceed its a newer 98 GSX motor. Also the boost is only turned to 10 and its 10 solid no spike at all. I figure that was a safe bet since stock injectors and all. Some say stock SAFC settings are fine. Most people say if you have stockers it not even worth tunin them still you get the 550's

Your good to go man. Go for the looks. Do a 97-99 conversion! :thumb:
 
yeah i decided F it ! I am going looks this sprin. Ordered some body parts already and will shop around for paint jobs and prices. I think that i am going to stay with black. It was either black or the gun metal gray,both are VERY nice but i like the black.
 
do yourself a favor and buy a 2.5 or 3in mandrell downpipe for $100-$130 from one of the vendors on this website. sence you already have a safc and 190 & evo16g your sitting on a potentual 12 second car!! buy a pocket logger for $100 and turn up the boost! (no more the 15 because of your 440's)

$250 for a 12 second DSM
$250+ for a 12 second looking DSM

dont go turning honda on us!! l/k do whatever you like but your almost there!!!!!

I don't know why you are worried about $$$ for the "show" and "go"... If I were you, I'd be more worried about that new heafty $10K fine for modding/removing a federally mandated smog device (your cat). OMG

Me, personally... I'de get a larger DP & HF cat Pronto! Followed by atleast some 550 injectors. Running too lean is a bad thing.

Yeah, my OE paint is trashed... I keep telling myself that I will get some paint on it soon... Well that's what I kepp telling myself anyways :D :D :D -More mods are waiting to go in!!!

Yeah i live in philly man. I could walk up to a cop and say "Yo , i have no cat" He would say leave me the hell alone. :p

I am doing looks , i already order some body parts and am getting quotes. as far as performace,. i alreadyhave the logger but dont know how to use it. I am going to mess with it more. i use the tunerstein software .

As far as perforamce the only other things i want right now are the DP and injectors, then tune
 
Commifornia or not, what part didn't you guys understand about it being a FEDRAL MANDATED law? (This just in, check your VCs)... For your guys sake, I hope that that cop is on his donut break and won't F with you :laugh:
