here in missouri all of my imbred redneck friends run open headers on their trucks and the kids that think they're from the 60's run their camaro's and firebirds w/ open headers. so i don't think it matters in MO if you have a cat or not.

Well, you better go get ur arse a high-flow cat then...maybe she'll purr even nicer too . As for the thread starter...I've got 2.5" catback plus headers and downpipe on my RS, and I think it will perform just fine when the turbo is added. Sure the back pressure and hooplah is important, but will the difference between my N/T exghust (sp...hahaha), and a turbo 3" exhaust be that integral to performance??

Now, this doesn't mean I'm saying to buy a 2.5" exhaust a week before putting the turbo on, then wondering how much money you can sell it for when you decide to upgrade to 3" a month later. Time is the key factor in all of it...oh yeah, and MONEY . Anyways, I hope i managed to save this thread from the certain demise to which it was headed.
