what turbo is bigger and is it possible?

I have a 95 gst and i just got a 90 turbo laser. I know the turbo on the laser is a TD05H bc thats what it said on it and i was thinking of changing out the turbos. Now if im not mistaken the turbo on the laser is bigger then the gst's right? So is this change possible and am i right about the sizes? Any help would do or even get pointed in the right direction for more research.:confused:
 
yes the 95 has a t-25 stock and the 90 has a 14b which is bigger as far and swapping it there shouldn't be anything that you have to do other then change them.
 
The turbo on the laser is a 14b mitsubishi turbo and can be swapped into the place of the garret t25 that is on your 95 right now. The 14b is a larger turbo and will hold more boost to redline. The t-25 will spool up a little bit quicker though. In order to swap the turbo's you will either need to buy a 16g install kit or you can salvage some of the water lines and oil feed lines from your laser. Also just so you know your 14b turbo is externally the same as the big, small and big evo3 16g turbos so any ifno you find on installing them will be the same as installing your 14b turbo.

a j pipe is the pipe that comes off the turbo so the intercooler piping can attach to it it looks like a J with a flange on one end of it.
 
Also you would need a new boost gauge and a boost controler since it is a turbo which can run higher psi you dont want to run more than what your supporting mods can handle.
 
or you could save your self the trouble and just drive the 90. then theres no worries about crank walk

thats another thing i was thinking of but the 90 wont be up and running for a bit. I just wanted to change it for now and have some fun with it but now that you mentioned that crankwalk, im going to leave it like it is. Thanks for the reminder.:thumb:
 
crankwalk doesnt happen as often as people say.

you could keep it on the 90, the 6 bolts are more reliable.
or ride in style in the 95. i like the 2gs chassis more then the first gens.
i say go for it.
