What to Do first?

I drive a 1991 Eagle Talon 2.0 L 16 valve DOHC. I currently have a aftermarket air filter breather. It is a K&N.
What should i do next?
Edit: This is a Non-turbo car.

have you done all your maintnence? if the car is mechanically sound and you want to keep it n/a, id get a tubular header, maybe a bigger exhaust. lighten the car up a bit.

Lower the compression and turbo the mofo!



But in all serious... like said before, take care of maintenance... replace the seals/gaskets/timingbelt/headgasket/etc...

and use brake cleaner on everything to clean up the grease buildup

Just don't turbo it. From my experience if you want a turbo car get a gst or gsx intstead.. too much issues and problems to turbo a n/t =[

Pretty easy to turbo a 1g N/T, but most will still lust to have all wheel drive in the future,

As it's been said a million-bajillion times before, make sure your maintenance issues are up to par. Then decide what you want out of your DSM, because as you'll find out, if major power is your goal the NT is not going to suit you. People will chime in and tell you to sell your car and buy a turbo model instead (I swear all this is written in the DSM bible somewhere) If you just want to lightly modify the car as a DD then here's Hideki's suggestions,

You can pick up a decent SS 4-2-1 header and intake off fleabay for cheap, and have a muffler shop make an exhaust system for you. If you still desire more power bigger cams and injectors designed for turbo cars will work (of course that also means you'll need a way to control those bigger injectors) Find a set of struts/shocks and lowering springs (if you can find affordable coilovers do it) and get some slotted rotors, SS brake lines, dual piston calipers and better pads. Do these simple mods, and if you still aren't happy then consider swapping or forced induction.

definitely consider the awd if your wanting boost. nothing sucks more than a fwd with power. its like running in place

I think most of the maintenance is up to par other then i need to check the tranny fluids. other then that, it rides smooth and great.

Out of curiosity, how much would an awd eagle talon cost roughly. I currently have a job and saving. Only thing i'm going to do to this car is paint it. As one of your reply said, use my fwd while i work on my awd. i like this idea. now i just need to find a running awd talon tsi and work on it.

also, if you know anywhere close to kentucky that someone has a awd tsi for sale cheap, feel free to contact me and ill see if i can arrange something.

Out of curiosity, how much would an awd eagle talon cost roughly.

I've owned 4 1Gs and haven't ever paid above 2K for one in good shape - all AWD and all manuals, and all stock. Heck - my first one I paid $1200 (guy thought it needed major work) and it just needed the recirc hose hooked back up.

my first awd was a 90 and I got it for $500 and I needed a ECU and Power TR unit...

My 91 was 2k need an ecu and is tore apart right now.
