Ok, so i had this noise occur earlier but cannot tell if its the rod bearings, thrust bearing failure, or a BS bearing?? :(

It bogs like crazy, and has no power...

Id like your guys input. Thanx.

Im thinking of draining the oil this weekend, check for shavings and such.
Also, my oil pressure is normal...if that helps any.

I have a similar noise coming from my 6 bolt during a cold start...it usually goes away after 15min and disappears above 3.4k rpm, I'm quite certain mine is caused by a leaky lifter...although yours sounds a bit worse. How does the oil on the dipstick look? Any glitter?

Rod knock possibly. My buddies sounded exactly like that did. Sorry for the misfortune. You oil pressure shouldn't be affected and my friend still drove the car around until he got his new bottom end. It did get worse...

Or you broke a spring or something because i have never heard any dsms lifter tick sound like that. wow it was loud as hell.

I thought mayb a collapsed lifter at first, but its knocking way to bad in my OP to be a lifter.

i checked the oil on my dipstick and looks fine, im going to change it this weekend to make sure.
PS..where did you get that 4g63t logo at??
My buddy actually custom makes logos for valve covers, he does all kinds of awsome work!!

However i am going to be doing a 6 bolt bottom end swap soon with a bunch more upgrades. I just wasnt ready to do the swap quite yet...

how is that lifter tick??? Does your cars actually sound like that LOL. I think you are crazy to think that is just "lifter tick". Lifter tick goes away after you get enough oil pressure to the top end and that does not go away. Im surprised at how many people said that.

LOL lifter tick you guys are nuts ;).... Sorry to hear that man...

Wow 190k miles.. way to go ! Bet she's still runnin' strong. And as mentioned above, i also thought it couldn't be lifter tick. It goes away after a few minutes of warm-up so the oil can lubricate the lifters.

It actually was, i am planning on doing a BSE on it and finding something too do with it..besides a lawn ornament HA.

It wasnt lifter tick, if you read above i found the issue..

I read.. it was the rear bs, hehe. Was just giving my late input. Lol @ ornament. Why don't you just rebuild your 7 bolt ? It seems to be a strong motor to have lasted this long.
