I am trying to find a T4 turbo for my N/T Spyder. I did some research but wanted an opinon from other people. The big thing is the size, I would like to see it spool around 3000rpm so it would still be a daily driver and not boost at 2000-2500rpm. It would be awesome to hear from a 4g64 guy that has a T4. Thanks for you help!

Please only recommend big name companies... I already got screwed with a crapy ebay manifold.

I found this one Please comment on it!

Um no T4 is going to spool at 3,000 you will see boost 4,500 plus or more rpm so rule that out.

Do more research, its alot alot of money to go with a T4 setup and you need a built motor to support the power out.

Most of the time DSMs dont use somthing supra and RX7 guys would use in a street car, they can run very large turbos.

A 3.0 can spool somthing much better than a 4cyc, you need alky injection or race gas to see the potential of that turbo.

Why not go with a FP series?

I will only be running 10psi so pushing the motor will not be a problem. The reason why I want a T4 is because I want to make more power soon. This is just a starting point.

Please don't post if you are going to suggest something other an a T4 I have made my mind about that.

Well I was just giving you some info, if you dont want it then thats ok its your car.

A manifold is going to be around 1,000 for a good T4 flanged one, shear and full race make awsome manifolds. I think RNR would make a manifold but they are more into evo stuff.

It would be alot better to list all your mods, your future plans and what you woud like to do to your car.

Other wise people on here are in the dark, it will help you get more advice.

So you want lots of power and you want a daily driver. When you say I want to see boost at 3000 not 2500 that is real confusing. Why would you want a daily driver to have boost lag. Daily drivers should spool as low as you can so you have power in low RPM's like when your daily driving. A drag car spools way later around 4krpms because of the huge turbo and it dont madder about lag if you keep your revs up. So you want a daily driver to have less boost lag. Also your T4 turbo will have major lag. I have a 16g and dont see 10psi untill 3000rpms. So your turbo is not going to be a good daily driver turbo.

I thought that for a daily driver you don't want the turbo to spool untill 3000 so you can save gas. I wouldn't want the turbo to spool unless I was going to drive it hard. Could my 2.4L spool the T4 at 3000rpm?

No your 2.4 will not spool the T4 at 3000rpm. Have you done research at all? You are going to need many supporting mods to run that turbo.

that looks like an ss autochrome spinoff to me. If you already got screwed with a crappy ebay manifold why try a crappy ebay turbo?

Were are you getting this info from:confused:

You dont need to be in boost at all, you can drive a car out of boost. Its all has to do with the driver. When im crusing around im not in boost at all, and then when I get on it to pass somone or floor it boost builds. Thats a simple break down of it, you know there is a reason why people dont run T4s.

600hp-1,000hp cars run T4s and its not cheap at all, Evo guys spend so much money to support T4s its not even funny.

T4s setups are alot of money to do right, built motor, AEM, head work, manifold, 3.5 exhaust, meth or running on race gas,High RPM screamers to take advantage of the lag and have a decent power band 9,000plus RPM.

Thats just some small things not even getting into it, there is so so much more im not even going to type it.

If you have to ask" most of the time its to much, simple and fast is the best way to go. Walk befor you can run man. :)

In response to the ORIGINAL question: While I may not be a 2.4l spyder, I do have a T04B V-trim. Let me tell you to go with a 50 or 57 trim with a T04E compressor cover. The B just doesn't do it for me. Full spool for me is around 4300 rpm. Also, to help your spool (while you're probably not going to get 3000) make sure you get a GOOD ported o2 housing and try and get a BB turbo.

You're going to have to make some choices man. Large turbo's spool later, but make bigger power. Smaller turbos spool quicker but fall off in the top end. Sorry. Tis physics. If you're dead set on a T4 then you're going to have to shell out some MAJOR cash to get close to the spool and power you want.

Good luck.

So I am wasting my time only boosting 6-7psi.

Also will a 16g make the same amount of power as a t4 at 10 psi?

Also just so you know you can rev a motor all the way to redline without boosting at all as long as you dont hit the gas to much. So even if you hit full boost at 3000rpms you can drive the car without spooling.
