Hey guys. I FINALLY bought my first DSM. It’s a 1990 Eclipse GSX. I received it today and was checking everything out on it when I noticed that the trunk space is infinitesimally small compared to my old 1993 Ford Probe. I was planning on just dropping my subs and amps from my probe into the GSX but it seems that’s not possible.

In my probe I was running 2 15" Kicker Comp 03CVR's I also had a 800watt Rockford amp to the subs and a 550 Power Acoustics amp to my mids and highs. Obviously my mids and highs wouldn’t fit but I had planned to drop my subs into the GSX. Not gonna happen.

So it seems that I have to buy new subs that will actually fit into the trunk of my GSX, and yes I have left the spare in there, I would hate to be screwed with a flat just because I wanted 6 more inches of space. So anyway my question is what size subs would you guys suggest to put in my 1990 Eclipse GSX?

I had 15"s before so obviously I like it loud, just keep that in mind please. I want the biggest I can reasonably get with a bit of space left preferably. Well thanks a lot and I appreciate any advice!

it is possible to fit 2 15's, you just need a custom box maximizing every inch of cargo room including spare tire well, you would have to keep it a sealed encloser also.

If your looking for hard hitting smaller subs try rockford power hx2 series

Well I plan to keep the spare in the trunk. So removing it just to fit bigger subs is not something that I want to do.

What's funny is back in 1994 I bought a Probe and put a 4-port bandpass box with two inverted 12s behind plexiglass in it. The box was huge and weighed almost 100 lbs. Later I bought a 1990 GSX and moved my system over...I had to throw out the back seats and the box fit perfect in its place. You willing to lose the seats?

I had 2 12" coustics. The cones were made of this interwoven kevlar like material. They sounded awesome.

Did you have both your spare tire and the seats still in the car? If so then thats definetly what I want to do!

Might as well lose the back seats cause I mean REALLY, our 1g's should have been a 2seater, cuase if you have ever sat back there. theres absolutly no room for ur feet or ankles.

Im dropin in 4 12's with Orion g4 ( Big Mofo ) excelon 4ch and Im thinkin of losing the back seats. Cause yes, we do have no trunk.
