Ok for starters I am installing one of my 16gs on my 2g. I went to the local speed shop and bought 6-AN fitings and lines to feed the turbo from the filter housing. Are they going to be too larger and over oil the turbo and blow the seals? I see most companys sell 4-AN kits for puting a 16g on a 2g.

If I can use 6-AN do I need to run some sort of restrictor?

-4 is the size you want. -6 wont hurt, there is a built in restrictor in the 16G. Look down into the oil feed hole on the top of the turbo. But over doing the line is just a waste of money.

Well it was not a waste of money all they guy had in stock was -6 and I paid less than some of the other vendors on this site for ask their -4 kits. Also paid less than what I would have from ebay for an -an kit, not prefabed line. With some beter parts than both the vendors and ebay had to offer. I am talking total price including shiping.

Seeing as all hard metal lines from the head for the factory 14B's found on 1G's have a restrictor built into the banjo end at the turbo, I believe some type of restrictor will be mandatory if you're feeding this turbo from the filter housing with a -6AN firehose.

You can't rely on the "internal restrictor" of the TD05H center housing to be enough. The oil flow isn't necked down until literally 1cm away from the journal bearings, and I think too much flow cut down too rapidly will cause a pressure washer-like jet of oil to be sprayed into the journals, which is not a good thing for proper lubrication.

Some guys have over-oiling issues with a -4AN line, I can only imagine the damage a -6AN feed line would do with only a -10AN drain. Keep in mind that -6AN is the fuel line size of choice for our cars and can provide enough fuel flow to supply all four injectors at just 50psi or so of fuel pressure on even the biggest drag-only setups.

It's already tight around the turbo, and especially in between the compressor housing and hotside. A -6 AN line is gonna be harder to route, and you may have an issue getting a wrench on the fitting at the turbo.

I believe this is a non issue I have a 12MM banjo to -6AN.

jusmx141 you make a very good point. Is the restrictor on the banjo fiting or the banjo bolt? I neglected to say I will be using the factory banjo bolt.

Just so you all know if I blow this turbo it is not a big deal it is a ebay big16 (only paied about 25$ for it). I have a MHI small 16g in reserve.

It's in the fitting end at the turbo, not the bolt.

Look at the inlet hole of the turbo-end banjo fitting of any factory 1G line (not the aftermarket or eBay turbo oil lines) and you'll see about a .075" oriface for the incoming oil supply at the turbo. MHI turbos don't like a ton of oil- you're going to be drowning it using a -6AN line unrestricted.
