what should I use to paint middle "taillight"

Oh, just re-read your post, actual tint film ? I've sprayed mine before with the VHT and it came out wonderfully.
 
Clear coat is a must. Wet sand 2000grit and polish it with a compound. I am doing a body color match on mine, just got paint mixed today.
 
Dont know if you have it over there ( or if its what you are already talking about!) but we have some stuff called Nite Shades....have used this myself with excellent results.
 
Rustoleum grey primer and Duplicolor black rattle can is what I used. I sanded it bare with some 100 grit then primed it and sanded the primer with 220. Then black. Holds up pretty well surprisingly.
 
So I want to paint my middle "taillight" black. I experimented on a junk piece with lens tint and it looks like crap. Before I try scuffing, primering and painting, any suggestions?

ive done plasti dip that way if you dont like it you can peel it right off
