OK, I'm rebuilding my engine cuz I've melted a piston and scored the cylinder wall. See a pic in my gallery. I can overbore .020" and buy JE pistons at 9.0:1. Is this compression ratio good for what I need in my 1g? I believe stock compression is 7.9:1, and would I rather have something closer to 8.3:1 or will 9.0:1 do fine? What precautions do I need to take and how will the compressionn effect boost applications, like if I were to run higher boost in the future?
