Ok, I am on the verg of building a new short block and so I am tearing everything out of it, to the bone sort of speak. Now the question I have is, are these Evo3 pistons and rods? The guy I got the motor from said that it was a jdm Evo3 motor that he was planning on rebuilding. Now, on the side of the pistons, under the oil ring, on one side it says "ART" and on the other it has the dimond star. Also, on the connecting rod it says, "G6X". Another thing, you can see little oil holes all around the piston under where the oil ring goes. Currect me if I am wrong, but, 1g and 2g stock pistons dont have that. Well, any help would help. I dont plan on using any of them, the pistons are done for, but the rods could be cleaned and sold I guess.

Every piston i have ever seen has oil holes in the ring land on the thrid ring(oil control ring)

Well, my Weisco's dont have the oil holes. But can anyone answer me if these are Evo pistons and rods or are they stock 1g's? My other block that I put together a while back, the makings on the pistons and rods looked different then these.

I've seen different markings within the same motor...those look like stock 1g rods/pistons to me, but I'm not sure what the difference would be anyways.

Well all the pistons and rods have these same markings on them. IDK either. I will double check the the engine code stamp on the block tomorrow morning.

ya looks like 1g's. the evo pistons have shorter skirts and they are also coated well the evo 8 pistons anyway. the markings on the top ov that piston match what ison my 1g pistons but my rods have a g6b marking on them. i have a set of evo 8 pistons though if anyone is interested.

Well I was thinking more like Evo3 pistons. I know the marking on the top of the piston is known, but the "ART" on the side makes me think "RalliArt". And I have seen other 1g rods, tons. And never seen the "G6X", only the G6B marking. Oh well, if they are stockers no biggie! I aint using them, I have Eagles to play with.
