What options are wise for ECU?

I have been trying to figure out which path I should take on my engine management here recently but can't decide. I am running 8 pounds currently. I have built the motor to handle more than that though. I want to see 22-25 pounds of boost. I want to be able to adjust it pretty easily but I also want multiple set ups. One for just easy 8 lbs boost and just easy on the fuel an motor. One in about 15lbs where I can play a bit has all the goodies of the motor but not really squeezing on the motor for power. Finally I want the holy shit tune full potential at my foot pedal. What can I do y'all. I plan on putting a computer in the glove box that is strict for tuning. But I don't know what would be my best choice reflashing the stock ecu or going with MS, or something else. Help me out please!

You can't reflash our ecu's. You will either need MS or AEM or an equivalent stand alone.

I would google ceddymods. I was under the assumption that the 98+ 420a's or atleast the spiders can be reflashed.

Ok with ms I like the price I saw. My question for it is what would I have to do to my car to make it fully stand alone by it. Would I have to change out any sensors? I have no extra sensors I don't know what all I need. As for AEM I looked them up tried calling them to see if I could use their stand alone unit in my car. Never heard back from them though.

You cannot flash 420a ecu's and spiders are completely different then 420a's.

Search anywhere for MS. There are tons of threads and write-ups on how to install it and what sensors to buy for it.

If your looking to run high boost your best option is megasquirt. You can tune it to adjust the a/f ratio at different boost levels. It would be nice if our ecu could be flashed but its just not possible. Megasquirt is going to be your best option here.

Could you run an evo 8 ecu in the 420a or some other ecu? Like srt4 or something? Then get an engine management from there? I really have no clue

The only tuning options available for the 420a are MS, piggybacking it, afx ecu (not recommended for boosted cars) or more expensive standalone, please stop giving this man false information.

Yea as fotowntalon stated thats is basiclly ## only opions especlliy for boost..Are 420as are unable to be reflased as others have stated above.I would go to symtechs site spend the money on the ems and either piggy back it or remove the factory ecu all together its not all that bad..ive done it for ppl in the past and currently deciding wheater to use the kit i have now or go 4g63 and forget it..best thing to do man read about megasquirt alot and then decide what functions are best for ## goals with ## car..also check the 420a forsale section sometimes there is units ready to go..
