What octane fuel do you guys run in your cars? I've notice a significant increase in engine performance and fuel economy when running 93 octane. =/

go to a hardware store and buy some tolene :thumb:

cheap but effective octane booster

Race gas is cheaper. Torco 110 is $4.00/gal here, compare that with Tolulene homebrew.
You may wish to check the pump if you're a Ultra 94 fan. Here in Michigan, 94 is Gasohol.
10% Ethanol is used as an oxygenate/octane booster. Higher octane yes but lower in fuel energy and a lot leaner burning too.

California. We aren't allowed to have octane.

Not likely. Yours shouldn't require premium, and the octane additives take up energy room in the fuel- you don't get as much out of it as you do regular. The additives also add to deposits. Unless the car's fighting the regular (pinging or "knocking" ) it's not good to use premium. You'd do better to tune to regular gas in an N/T.

93 plus a bottle of octane boost/injector cleaner EVERY TIME. I just rebuilt my head with new valves, all new fuel system, injectors, etc. and I want to keep them that way!

thats totally unnessesary, and btw your plugs prolly look like shit with the oct booster everytime.

How about in a 2gnt? I've been using 91 since last month right after I rebuilt my engine since im prepared to turbocharge within the next couple weeks.
