for those of you who daily drive your dsm's what octane of fuel do you use?

93 Octane ...... I used to run 86-87... bad idea it ran like shit i put 93 in and it ran like never before.

93 octane, my local BP has it for $2.00 a gallon, but if I fill up in WI it costs me $2.25  so much money spent in gas... :barf:

I use to put in 91 but now 89 the gas prices are so insane in SoCAL how about $2.60 for 91 octane

Holy hell!! 100 octane is only 2.79 at the pump right around the corner from my house. If gas got that high here I'd just run 100 all the time.

I used to run 87 in my 95 GST, it had quite a few mods!
It got better gas mileage, i got 335 miles per tank apposed to 290-300.
I drove in a mix of HW/City
Try it, if your not racing anyone or just cruising on the HW, you'll get better gas mileage!
I'm not sure why, but i think becuase the timing will adjust itself for it.
Not great for racing, but save some $$$

I currenty have been running 93 in my 99 spyder but im tempted sometimes to try it
93 is $2.49 everywhere here in Chi-Town!

Wouldn't using a lower octane fuel in a high reving car like ours cause alot of detenation? Burning pistons and all that fun $$$ stuff.

91 is all you can get around here, i use it all the time in my talon/laser . i just put some in yesterday 2.69 a gal

If you have a heavy modded car and running more than stock boost levels i wouldnt reccommend it. I never had a problem ever running 87. I would make sure i never really ran it hard either, but i was just driving back and forth on the xpressway.
Turbo DSM's have a knock sensor which adjusts the timimg and allows people to run 87 if they want, but you will suffer a little performance... I just use it when i know i have a highway trip or when im not gonna be racing. Saves $$

I run 91, that's all we have around here. I payed $2.51 the other day for it. There's a place about 10 min. away where they have 100 octane, but it's $5 a gallon.

OMG, and i thought i had it bad at 2.12/gallon of 93oct. that sucks....someone should ask good old arnie wtf is up!

94 sunoco 2 weeks ago was $1.95, I havent filled up latelty. I have been haveing tranny problems.

I run 89 now was running 91... payed 2.45 for 89 and its about 2.59 for 91. On track days i run 105 F&L racing fuel....used to be 4.50 now its about 6.50 damn gas prices ps if anyone in so cal wants to buy some i sell it. just hit me up.
