1G What motor mounts

Stock mounts will get ripped up with 500hp so you have options of part of them stock part of them poly or aluminum. Stock will soften the vibrations and poly's like mine will let the car feel the motor running so it is a "do I want to replace my mounts every year, or less" or "that vibration is driving me crazy". I like my poly mounts but they do transfer the engine vibrations into the car. If you don't drive it hard, the stock mounts MAY be ok but when you unleash 500hp its gonna twist those rubber mounts very hard until they split.

So poly is the way to go ? Is that the best ones ?

some people complaint about the ride and the vibration but honestly I don't mind it at all. its just a matter of preference, I like the poly inserts and also filled my own with window seal (a lot cheaper and holds up well) and liked it. Both will hold up fine.

They will definitely hold the motor in solid. The ride you get will be noticeable at certain rpm's but I do like mine. Rock solid engine in the bay! Here are a couple of articles on how I installed mine but the choice is yours on what you need for your setup.

What's the name brand ?

Prothane. From Ebay, about 75.00 for all four, non were inserts (those cheap things you stick in your factory mount), they were all solid poly mounts. :thumb:

Oh hell yes support our Vendors. I love STM!!

I hope they offer the all solid ones, I don't like the insert things.

These are what I have, very solid. They are for 90-94, what year is your car, your profile doesn't say. The 95-99 mounts only come with two solid mounts and inserts for your roll stops, from what I can find. You should ask STM if they offer the all solid kits anymore, but they don't show them and I can't find them anywhere else either except here:

Haven't used them but Poly mounts are pretty much the same except those insert gizmo's. I was lucky to find a kit that had all 4 mounts and no inserts.

Go with the Avid racing "tuner series" motor mounts from extreme psi. They are 75a durometer. You could also go with the polished aluminum version.

Kinda pricey but what isn't for our cars, right? Those bolt in without doing any work but I like working (to a point) on my car and knowing it is all good.
