well...I have a b16g and well..it is whining...just want to know what makes it whine like an ambulance LOL! ...is it the air trying to get out the inlet or what...thanks

forgot to say...it had a bit of shaft play, and the compressor wheel isn't in great shape at all...

my 14b was doing the same thing i found a boost leak. the two allen bolts at the turbo oulet where it mates to the j pipe, one of the bolts was loose and the turbo would scream really loud LOL give that a shot

My 14b was doing the exact same thing, actually go to c3cars.com and look at the vw corrado w/ the bahn brenner supercharger and there ya go, thats how it sounded. Needless to say the turbo was on the verge of locking up and wasnt spinning as fast as the exaust was passing through it

Ya that doesnt sound to good, shaft play is for sure a bad sign. I have heard a couple people say when their turbo was starting to die :( that it would sound like a siren. Good Luck.

Mine has a bent fin and it whines like a supercharger. But I have read for others with a similar problem it could be anything from a simple boost leak to the turbo about to die.

I love the sound of the supercharger on my corrado.

On another note, my turbo whines but its not messed up. Its just b/c its a huge mofo and takes time to spool. Damn it sounds so sexy. Its a PTE PT67. I love that turbo.

yeah...I know it needs to be replaced...I just F*cked up my scm61 and until I could fix it I installed a b16g made frome scratch...it started whinning in the transition between vac and boost...I know it wasn't in great shape at all, I'm just curious of what makes it sound like that  I think it is the air getting out throught the inlet....
