turbo whine until boost builds?

I hear a real loud whine as soon as I start to build boost and it stops after a few psi has built up. It almost sounds like a cop siren. It starts at 0psi and gets louder up until 3 or 4psi and then it just quits whinning all of the sudden. I don't know WTF it is. Can anyone help?

Probably going out, check your turbo for shaft play. My 16g did that then it went way down hill :thumbdown

Might just be a boost leak or could be the bearings. Pull off the intake pipe and checke for excessive shaft play in the turbo, if it isn't aparent, then do a boost leak test.
