i also want it to be somthing will a waranty...the goodyears have a 50,000 mile waranty....
i was looking at some other tires on tirerack.com just for specs and stuff...and i think i want the goodyears...i was also looking at some michellins...but i think the goodyears seem better...any other really good brands i should look at?

look into the japanese brands (Kuhmo, Yokohama, Falken) they are cheaper and just as good :dsm:

Falken won't last 50k miles. Mine last around 8k on the street.

im goin to get some 16" kumho ecsta supra's from tirerack.com its like 75 bucks a tire a hell of alot cheaper than some of the other brands, and kumho is a good brand. might not last as long though.

8k miles?!?!?!? thats craziness!!!!! so what if they $30 cheaper...and only last a short time!!! i put alot of miles on...and i my car usually hits 100mph EVERYDAY....i want somthing that will last a while....

WOW...i just read what i just posted....i dont know if anyone will be able to understand that grammar usuage....hehehe :thumb:

ok...well i guess the eagle gt hr is not an ULTRA high performance...just high....but when i was compareing specs on tirerack.com....they seemed to be just as good as some of the ultra highs....im not saying im set one the goodyears....just right now they seem to be the best .....

My Khumho ECSTA 16s lasted less than 12,000 miles on my 96GT with proper rotation, tire pressure, good alignment, and new suspension.

thats what i mean...and would you buy those same tires again? and were they really that amazing?

I have Dunlop SP 5000s on my car and I love them. They don't have a warranty, but, the 340 treadwear rating doesn't do them justice. There is around 30K miles on my tires right now and I'd say I have at least 65% of the tread left and no uneven spots in wear. They grip just like the day I got them (rated AA) and they are amazing in the rain.

Have you looked into Kuhmo 711s? Not the 712's mind you. They are high performance (what a marketing gimmick to name these categories) W rated with great wear. Might be just what you are looking for.

I always use continental, don't remember which model, but they seem to wear fine and perform ok. They are also fairly inexpensive.

im only going to be using them as a summer tire (and for racing and what not) ive already got all season tires :thumb:

My 712's didn't last for crap.

I went with the Kuhmo ASX, good traction with much longer wear.

I recommend the Yokohama AVS ES100, but those are a summer tire, they are great tires tho.

I looked at gettin some BFGoodrich Traction T/A's, they have a 70,000 mile warrenty i think.

I have these, worst tire I've ever owned.

As far as how long tires last, driving style plays the biggest role. About 8 years ago I had a delsol with 205/40/16's BF euro TA's, a friend of mine had a civic with the exact same tire and size. Mine lasted me 20,000 miles, his lasted him longer than he had the car which was over 40,000 miles.

I had those same tires, same size too on my CRX and they were great. Even while driving like an idiot the tires didn't seem to wear too bad.

And the BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW NT is an outstanding tire aswell.
