What kind of backseat do you have?

Ok.
So i'm almost done with my interior. My talon came with the grey leather, but the front seats were beyond horrible. I replaced them with some dark grey cloth ones.
My problem is the backseats. I bought the matching cloth backseats along with my fronts.
My foldable part of my backseat is a one piece seat. The cloth backrest i got is a two piece.
I took my one piece out to put the new two piece in, but my car lacks the center bracket to support the two-piece backrest part of the backseat. WTF?

Every single 1G dsm i've seen has the two-piece-backrest backseat. I've seen turbo FWD's like mine with the 2 piece, and every AWD has them. I figured since mine was a 90 that it was a bastard, but every 90 i've seen FWD and AWD leather and cloth have the two piece.

All i want is my backseat to match my front seat. If anyone has a 1 piece dark grey cloth backseat backrest i will gladly take it off of you!

I've never seen a one-piece back seat in a 1g either...could you just attach a metal plate or something to the backs of the seats to hold them together like one piece somehow?

I suppose I could make a bracket. I'd stil rather find a one piece backseat, though as it will help me out with mounting some of my 80,347 stereo components. :laugh:

My 1.8 had a two piece, maybe just in 90 they had them? Like with the humpless hood

I have a 1 peice backseat on my 1g GS-T, my old TSi also had a one peice backseat

both came in tan cloth

you talking the back part of it being one peice instead of a split peice? if so, heres how my car experience lined up...
90 laser - 1 peice
91 tsi, 92 gst, 93 dl, 93 tsi, all 2 peice.

my guess is its a 1990 thing...but must have come in lasers as well because this laser was all original.
someone probably swapped it or something on your car...dont know

I guess it's just a few cars came with them like that. I don't think someone swapped a pne piece into mine because there is no middle bracket for the split part of the seats to bolt to.

So.... hehe... does anyone have an extra dark grey cloth one piece?

i didnt know there was a bracket for them to bolt into. i thought the seat backs just had little "feet" on them that bolted into the floor. or is there no holes there either? i may be wrong...im going to go take a look at my car

yeah, there are Raised up brackets that the little feet bolt to. On two-piece backseat cars there are the brackets for the outside pair of feet and there is a bug hump behind where the seatbelts bolt down for the middle set of feet to bolt to.
I tried putting my split ones in and the seats went like this:

My friends Turbo laser has a one piece backseat. Maybe it was just a laser thing. Every talon and eclipse i've seen has the split fold.

I like the one piece also. If i had the two-pice, i wouldn't have anywhere to mount my speaker amp.
My speaker amp is almost 3 feet long.

I have the same problem man, I swapped out the old and ugly tattered cloth seats and swapped in some laser front buckets. I had to get a non color matching rear seat from a 90 eclipse thats one piece to fit in mine. I got the 2 tone action in the back and light grey up front
