I sold my 2g about a month ago and couldnt stay away from the dsms. So i decided i would go ahead and see how the ebay stuff is working out.:D I got a deal on a ebay turbo. Its a little big but we will see how it works. Got the ssautochrome manifold and everything else. Heres some pics of the engine im putting back together. All new bearings, gaskets, arp studs and head gasket.

Yeah ill let you know. I got it off a friend for $100 and it was brand new so figured i would give it a shot.
 
Well got everything done except for puttin my injectors in. I drove it around a bit and got on it once to see what it would do.. Stock 450 injectors didnt work very well. LOL . But at around i think it was 4700 it was at 15psi. And man did it pull hard till it started cutting out.
 
I looked back but couldn't find it. What are you using for a tuning device? And also what size injectors are you putting in? Profile says 650's, but aren't those small for the turbo? Just curious. Can't wait to see it fire up.
 
Just wanted to update that everything is working out fine and i should be able to see full boost alittle before 5k haha. But man does it pull hard..
 
damn you should definitely post a video and some pictures.

What kind of injectors are you going to be using and what are you using to tune it?

For now im just using a safc with some 650s gonna see how much i can push on those injectors since i got a good deal on them. 1000cc and dsmlink in the future i hope tho.
 
yeah i had that SAME turbo on the rx7, which generates considerably more exhaust energy than the 4g63. The T4 1.15 is a serious hot side. Will make great hit end power, but at what rpm it comes in at (ie reaches full boost) will be interesting.

Also, as for the wastegates, those are the ones that JP used in the 700 hp monster colt. Granted he used two of them. nevertheless, im sure that will work fine.

the reason the rip off turbos die is that the bearings they make are junk. Compare the bearing they use to an OEM if you ever get a chance and you can visual see some differences. If you toleranced everything, then you would REALLY see what was going on.

That said, why the hell would you want a turbo made in communist china? What motiveation do they have to make a good product for the big ole' evil capitolist bastards across the ocean?
 
Hey man, i bought the same thing a while ago and i believe that i've herd the internals on the turbos are Greddy, or atleast on mine they have a part number on them too. Off of the old T60, T61 Turbos.
 
ck from the dead, but i was wondering how the setup is working? I was gonna purchase the gt45 on there for my 2.4 laser. I have all the suporting mod just wanna see how everything is working
 
it was crap, i bought the car off of him, and it was blown, so i wouldnt mess with ebay... I put on a b16g instead.
