This is on the front passenger side of my dsm...i need to get new bushings i believe because it is loose...i can move it up and down...is it the lower control arm or? please let me know...i think it might also be causing the clinking noise i been hearing when my car is given gas...

^^ yup and be careful taking those bolts out I just did mine and snapped a bolt in the frame needless to say 17 hrs of drilling later it's done...
 
When you install the new bushing make sure you have it in the right direction and it is sticking out on each side the same amount. They make MOOG bushings for them. They are called the actual lower control arm bushing when you call the parts store. The straight arm is called the lateral arm just a heads up. A press is going to be your best friend also.

Wow bad luck :/ I've taken them off 2 different cars and never had a problem.

The most annoying part was getting the ball joint to come off the damn wheel hub LOL. My car doesn't seem to like to come apart there o.o (good thing I suppose haha)
 
ha carefull with it, I would spray the crap out of it with wd40 or break loose spray and let it sit over night. If you can't break it loose be ready for a long fight.
 
Most part stores will call both the straight and curved pieces, lower control arms. To distinguish between the two would be the shape.
