well all my mods are listed in my profile and my goal right now is 12's and i have a fwd lazer i was wondering if wat i have rite now is good enuff for 12's yet and if it iisnt wat is the next best upgrade i should do??

i didnt see anything stating fuel in there.

what kind of boost are you running right now?

if your fuel system is still stock, that needs to come next. go with a 255lph pump, a aeromotive FPR, and at least 650cc injectors. youll need something to tune with, if you have a laptop i recommend going straight to dsmlink, since itll be 500 bucks, instead of buying a palm pilot(100), then pocketlogger software(120), then a safc2(250). and it makes tuning so much better. i had safc/logger and went to laptop/dsmlink and the difference is amazing, i will never go back to stone age safc.

if your fuel system is stout, then id still say get dsmlink. cams would be nice, but having a great tune with stock cams>great cams with stock tune.

Like the man said FUEL. your not close to the 12's with out fuel mods. i mean look at my profile and see my time and all my mods not saying there great and all but anyway, granted I'm not at sealevel and it was hot as heck and never got traction and I'm not the best driver in the world but i guess who is. but god luck. PS i was at 18PSI :dsm:

Like everyone said get some fuel, you will need atleast 550cc injectors with 190 lph fuel pump. I would recommend getting 660s with a 190 rewired for your setup...

As for tuning.. I don't think you need a DSM link for the turbo or setup you are running but will be easier to tune. I would get a SAFC and a datalogger or get it dyno tuned when you are completely ready and you are off to greatness... I think you will reach 12s with that alone.

Cams are a nice addition to your wants and needs and a substitution to the HKS cams that are a little cheaper are the comp cams or the FP comp cams.

Holly Lack of following an upgrade path batman!!!! You have a ported head and didn't "splurge" for 225 dollar 550c injectors. 550's or even 660cc injectors and a walbro 255 with even a cheap ebay AFPR(Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator) and DSMlink and shit you could touch 11's with race gas. While it's not as easy or likely as hitting 12's it is def possible.

First thing get the walbro either 190 or 255 i would just go 255 better safe then sorry and get a AFPR so you don't overrunn the stock FPR and you can turn the boost up a litle make sure you have a logger before you do any of this by the way to watch for knock and timing. Then get the injectors and a way to compensate for them and tune your fuel trims(safc, DSMlink, MAFT, VPC, Greddy Emanege, ect...)

That is all you need to get you some good times of course if you can't drive your screwed but if you can and you pick up those things then your set.

sorry for not gettin back to yall but yea im orderin my fuel pump and injector this weeknd i was gonna go with the 255 FP and some 780 injectors do u think that is over doing it? but yea the only reason my head is ported and polished is becuz i bought the car wit bent valves went lookin for a head and cought a great deal on the head ported and polished with stainless steel erything and bronze valve guides so i couldnt refused that for 600 but i was planin on doin my fuel mods after i installed the head and turbo and got the car runnin but then unfortunatly i lost my job but now i have 3000 to spend so i wanna hit the track soon but not till im tuned.

That should be fine. You might have some trouble controlling the 780cc injectors with a SAFC though. You are going to get something to tune with, right?

yea i plan on gettin dsmlink v2 my boy has it and he said he loves it so ill b gettin that in about a month but once i hit mid to low 12's im gona put my motor in a awd shell

Your 420a is going in a AWD shell. That sound like it might be an interesting project. Why not just get a AWD and modd it how it is?

Hopefully, if you don't have it already, get a 3" exhaust, and a FMIC...You will need an exhaust to run 13's, and it's better to have a FMIC if you're shooting for lucky 12's...780cc would not be overkill for DSMLINk, but definitely for an safc...Make sure you get the AFPR tho also since you want a 255lph...

Don't think you can just run your fuel setup without it...You will be very upset when you can't tune the car right b/c your FPR is being overrun and running insane fuel pressure yet you don't have the ability to turn the pressure down closer to stock...I also think 780cc might be overkill for an evoIII, 720cc would definitely be the limit, and 660-680cc would be optimum for low 12's...

Also, remember that you are driving a FWD car, so It will be extra tough for you to run 12's on a 16g...I definitely doubt low 12's with your setup and FWD, but if you can drive the ca well and get it tuned to perfection, then who knows...

BTW: they dont make DSMLINK v2 for 1g's..They make a 1G DSMLINK but not with the V2 features...Correct me if I am wrong, although Im usually right :sneaky:

well i dont have a 420a i have a 90 turbo laser which come stock with the 4g63 motor but i have to disagree with u kracka my friend has a 1g talon and he runs dsmlinkv2 his name on here his black12

yea i kno it will b hard to hit low 12s in a fwd but not impossible and i like a challenge but i figure if i run a low 12 in fwd then when i swap it 2 awd ill easily b in the 11's just my theory tho

This would be a great time for you to do the swap, since most of your work is just in the engine. Before you install the fuel pump and the FPR, get it swapped into an AWD shell, then just put the fuel modifications directly in after that. If you swap it into the AWD you will definetly hit the 12s your looking for, and after DSMLINK and a good tune, maybe a high 11.

i just ran a 13.2 and i dont have half the mods you do but i did lose a lot of wieght

after you get the fuel id start on suspension, lsd. drag radials or slicks

find a way to get traction that is your main concern with the fwd
