Alright everyone, all the mods are in my profile. I was just wondering what the next "best" mod would be to see an increase in performance. Alcohol injectio/water injection? Or maybe built internals? I don't want to spray really, especially on the stock internals. Also, i was curious as to how much boost I can safely run on my stock internals with my setup? I've read that 24 should be safe, but it's also got 90k miles and I just wanted to be on the safe side. It's set at 20 right now. Thinking of setting it to 22-24....let me know what your guys' opinions are on the next step.

I ran 22psi on stock internals for roughly 25k before I developed a huge oil leak on my turbo feed line and toasted 2 rod bearings almost instantly LOL . Other than that It ran awesome. Ill tell you right now the two best mods I have ever done to my 95 were the 6 bolt swap and DSMLINK. Might wanna consider one of those. If I were you I wouldnt waste my time building the stock 7bolt because it may walk. Alot of people build them and say if they are built right then they are fine, but I dont like to take chances when thousands of dollars are on the line. Just my two cents.

yeah, thanks for the advice man...i got dsmlink already, but I don't know about a 6 bolt swap. I would love to, but I'm only a highschool kid with a part-time job :| If it already has 91k on it and hasn't walked...wouldn't there be a good chance that it won't? Also, what internals do you guys usually reccommend getting? Rods, pistons, cams, anything else? Keep the great opinions and tips coming! :thumb:

you have a lot of options when it comes to internals: some go with eagle/ross, wiseco/eagle, etc. if you wanna get extreme you have companies like oliver and such.

as far as cams, I wouldn't go with anything less than 272/272 or FP2 (more mild) to maximize potential. The idle is definitely liveable and they're great :thumb: (I don't have them, my friend does).

If your gonna do anything internal on the 7 bolt I would do cams and then have fun till it dies. The reason Im so weary of building 2g motors is because I have personally seen them walk at 50k-115k and have heard stories of them even after that. If you research the 6 bolt swap you will find that it is not that bad price wise. I still have all the reciepts for when I did mine for the machine work pistons, rods, ect. if you are curious of what you would get into financially.

yeah, I was kind of curious as to how much the 6 bolt swap costs. Also, how hard would it be to do, or would you reccomend taking it to a shop. I am only 17, but have set up both my cars from stock. (one with evo3 and supporting, one with 50 trim and supporting) And if I do decide to mildly upgrade my 7 bolt, how hard is the work on that? (is there any sites that detail internal work?) Thanks a lot guys :thumb:

nothin wrong w/ upgrading a 7-bolt. just do the CW pre-cautions. i would look into camshafts, ML HG, and head studs. i've ran 29 psi on this w/ stock internals. :D

thanks v2ner. That's what i was planning on doing. I see you live in madison, ever go to any DSM/car meets around here? I'm right by delafield/oconomowoc/wales/waukesha. If ya know where any of those are. We should meet up sometime next summer....i hate winter :notgood:

i've never been to those meets around here but i wouldn't mind. i've been around the chicago area more but i do live in madison. good luck :thumb:
