What is the most effective place to add dynomat?

I was wondering where I can add a little dynomat to quiet down my eclipse. Its not to bad around the city but when i'm on the freeway the road noise is very loud. I don't want to add a ton of weight to my car so I was just wondering where I could add a little dynomat to help reduce cabin noise. Thanks

i had the same issue, i dug up the carpet in the trunk by the spare and layed some carpet padding down and put everything back and its great

okay sorry i was at school and had to be sneaky.

If you open the hatch, basically strip everything down to the spare. I put the carpet padding on the bare medal(some directly above the muffler) and around the spare and basically anywhere that there was bare medal. then just put everything back on. It works just as good. Because I was going to get some dynomat or whatever and we were re doing carpet so my dad said just use that. It works perfectly

Dynamat Xtreme is super-thin and light-weight. And Xtremely Xpensive, but it works great. All I know is 1G, but the trunk area is the worst for road noise. Especially in the rain on the highway. You can really hear all the water spraying up in there. Start by putting the dynamat anywhere you can reach that has bare metal without any factory factory sound-deadening, but you can also layer the dynamat on top of the factory rubbery sound deadening material. If you pull all the plastic interior panels you'll find tons of places to slap some dynamat.

Also, you could strip out the interior panels, mask off the front from the hatch area, and spray tons of undercoating all over the entire trunk area. Might be a lot cheaper.

I like B Quiet more then Dynamat, it's cheaper, better quality and easier to work with.

I think the front is pretty-well insulated already. Fold down your back seat, then hit the highway during a rain-shower. You will hear how badly the trunk area could use more sound-deadening.
