Yeah I know what ECM link is and Im going to be buying it this weekend USED.
So my question is is ecmlink a cd? A download?
I understand you need a username and password but whats stopping people from giving it to their friends to install as well?
Just wanna make sure Im getting what I pay for.
Also, my cpu Id like to use is a notebook w/o a cd drive, do you guys think Ill be able to run it on there?
Thanks guys.

You can easily download the ECMLink software off their website..

However you will need the cable that comes along with the package to be able to connect to the ECU

Not to mention the ECMLink chip that needs to be socketed to your ECU

So basically the software is worthless unless you have the Chip/Cable

ECMTuning, Inc.

Software-free
You run an eprom ecu with a dsmlink chip. You then plug in the cord you get into the obd2 port and plug the other side into your computer. Connect to dsmlink and wala. It is quite easy. There is no cd needed. The software runs on its own

The actual chip is where the money's at ;)

The job service of having your ECU Socketed is $30... not the actual chip
