Dunno what a 14g is but the 14b is good for up to 20psi tuned well.
Go with a 14b found on 1st gen dsms. (89-94).

Now I feel dumb. Could have SWORN that said 16G... LOL. :D

14G has a stepped compressor wheel, similar to the 16G if I remember right. Let me do some research. :dsm:

No such animal as a "14g"...I would say a t25/t28 would give you a much torquier rice rocket(still not enough) then a 14b, but the 14b would give you better top end then the t25.

flow rates
t25-250 cfms really really quick spool up, great for small displacement i.e hondas
t28-505-550cfms great all around almost as fast spool as a t25 but better top end
14b-400 cfms pretty good spool, good top end
Good luck
Andrew

ps if your looking for mitsu turbo other then a 14b i.e. 16g big 16g, 18g 20g and so on, you will need alot of fuel, exhaust, and a little more displacement to spool it up before 6000rpms.

OK, now, to answer the question you really asked:

http://www.stealth316.com/images/td05-14b-raw.gif

EDIT: I realized I don't know what I'm talking about as far as compressor maps, so I'll let you make your own decision based on the above maps as well as these two:

The 14b seems to me to have a larger range of efficiency at different CFMs and pressure ratios, but the 14g looks to flow more at lower pressure ratios. They'll both put out close to 490CFM at 60% efficiency.

Anyway... and continuing with the main question...

A 14b should be more than enough, not that im trying to downgrade a GSR motor, but since they have higher compression pistons than turbo engines, I dont think you'll be running 15+ PSI on stock internals, besides 10 PSI nicely tunned will get you there... unless you're looking to build a race car... then you should be getting some bigger turbo: 50 trim etc...

This has nothing to do with ur question but...

i have always heard u DO NOT turbo a vtec motor b/c it will not hold boost cause of the valves being open at diffrent times. But hey i don't do hondas. To me they are extremly overrated...but i don't wanna start ANOTHER honda flame post...there are plenty of those around here ;)

I already have the 14b but when I bought it it was missing the o2 housing.I took it to a local shop that works on turbos and they said that the exjaust hosing was cracked and around the flaper is also.Maybe someone on this site has an extra housing they would like to sell. Thanks for all the help, especially were i drive a honda,I thought i was not going to get any help at all.And maybe someone is selling a whole turbo for a good price.14b,t3.

Bingo! It flows about 50cfm more than the 14b. I think all the G series wheels were stepped. C and B are all the same, kind of like a turbine wheel.

14b will be fine.

A friend is running a Hatch with a B18C1 and a 14b that we just set up. We have not gone to the track yet, but if it doesn't trap over 110 mph I will be very surprised. It easily walks on my car (102-104 mph traps) and my friend's LS (~103 mph traps) from a roll on the highway.

You'll want to run no more than 9-10 psi unless you have an upgraded engine management system, and a better MAP sensor.

PM me if you want more information about turbo Honda stuff.

1. That's wrong. Anyone who says that is wrong and doesn't understand engine dynamics.

2. Hondas are not overrated, and anyone who says that is also wrong, and close minded. I have two friends with very basic setups and 14b's, and then both trap over 100 mph in the quarter, pump gas, full street trim. One is running a crap Supra MKIII intercooler and DSM 450's, and one is on a precision intercooler with 550's.

Compared to my car which is very quick for it's mod level, they both are faster on the highway.

Honda'a are engineered and built VERY well.
