Its the lower intercooler piping for 1st gens..or for people with 16g+ turbos...the stock 2G lower intercooler piping is called the "S" pipe. The T25/T28 are the only ones that
I know of that use the "S" pipe instead of a "J" Pipe.

Why do they name them like they do? Simple..its the shape that they are in.

Mitsubishi compressor housing outlets fire in an upward position. The J-Pipe allows you to direct the flow downward and into the intercooler pipe. As crazy as it sounds.. its shaped like a J.

The 1G came with mitsu turbos on them, so they already have a J-pipe, however the 2G came with a garrett turbo, which already has a downward firing compressor outlet. If you plan to swap a mitsu turbo into a 2G you will need to purchase an aftermarket, or 1G J-pipe.
