I have a 1991 eclipse gsx, and i am looking to hard pipe my fmi and install a new air intake. Something along the lines of a cold air or something. But the guy at the shop i get my work done at said that 1g eclipses have a square MAF and he said that it would make putting in a aftermarket intake difficult. He said something about converting to a 2g MAF because it is round. Does that sound right. If you guys have any tips or info that would help that would be great.

Thanks:D

Go ebay NGR bov.Get the real NGR diaphram, you have an NGR(knock off type S) for 70$ instead of 150$ like they sell on theirs site.

I had a crushed 1g bov.It liked to flutter.Put the stock one back on uncrushed,Didn't leak even with boost creep.

Some people have seen 1gs leak not crushing them.I have not.

With a FMIC shouldn't you already have hardpiping?

I just have it mounted right now and haven't mounted it because i wasn't sure if i was going to buy a different one or not. I wasn't sure if it would be cheaper to buy the vrsf fmic with the piping already, or to have my piping done custom the way the mechanic wants to do it.

If money isn't an option, you could also buy the jm fab race bumper so you can just bolt it up without hacking anything.
