I'am just about to change the head gasket of my 1991 Talon TSi FWD. It isn't crack or broken or something, but just for preventing future problems. My car has 83XXX miles and still have the OEM one. I was thinking on buying the ones of Eagle Automotive Warehouse (http://www.eagleautomotivewarehouse.com/index.htm). My question is: are those ones good??? Have someone already bought gaskets from there???

Right now I am runing with 15Psi on my current mods, but I really won't go over that. So the question is: does nonmetal head gasket (of Eagle Automotive) will handle that??

I hope someone can give an advice of those gaskets...
Thanks in advance

I know this is going to sound a bit sarcastic but, If it isn't broken don't fix it. The stock headgasket is going to be fine at those boost levels for the next 60K miles. If you really have all that pent up energy to spend fixing something that isn't broken you might want to think about a timing belt and a water pump.

If you really do feel the need to change it I would put a stock mitsu back in. Its the most forgiving and will hold fine to 20psi or more. You might want to think about ARP headstuds while the head is off. But really, if your not going to turn the boost up past 15psi none of this is really neccessary.

I really apreciate alot your advice... I didn't have any idea on how much those the OEM head gasket can handle... but if it so good, I think i will leave it like that... :thumb:
The real think is that I am planing to eliminate the balance shafts and replace the lifters (3rd gen lifters) so I was thinking that while almost all of the engine is out, maybe it was the adecuate time to change the head gasket.

Thanks and still hearing opinions!

I second the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". The stock gasket is good well over 20 psi on a good tune. If you have no plans on running anything over 15 psi, the stock gasket and head bolts are more then adequate.
