What happened to DSMTalk?

I first spent forever waiting until I could register before I could post. There were many, many times that I wanted to reply to help someone with a problem when no one else has or offer useful insight to a thread, but of course I couldn't because of their policies. Once I finally registered, I asked a perfectly valid, good question about something related to TMO, and I even explained myself, but I got banned right after that post.

I don't like the place because of my bad experiences with it. Now that I've compared the two, I'd much rather be here anyway.

LoL i got banned from Talk because i argued with one of the moderators :laugh: I didnt even use bad words or anything (this is back when i first go my DSM i had a different name then i got banned, and switched it to DSMspyder99) i rarely talk on talk becuase it isnt as active as Tuners.

That's because someone used one of the mods material on their website (without their consent) got busted fot it and couldn't admit nor apologize for it. THEN - they got banned. Sounds familiar?

Yea, dsmtalk isn't nearly as active as tuners. Took a while to get one reply from somebody for a relatively simple question.

Well, there's always DSMLife.

And it may not be the best tech board ever, but the people there are always willing to help, and not spout off random shit about their cousin's civic on 19's. You can usually get a question answered.

And there's no limit to what kind of stuff you can say in the lounge.

I'm not putting down Tuners, just suggesting an alternative to Talk.

It's not that dsmtalk is not as active as tuners, its that tuners get's all the new guys where as most of the guys on talk have been around for years. I just wish the new guys here and there would learn to just lurk for a year or so and learn everything they can before spouting off questions that could've been found with a quick 3 minute search. Which that is the reason why tuners appears more active. Just about everything on talk has been covered and is already archived for searching. I admit, until talk went down, I was hardly here, and this is a completely different board from when I left it. I like that its active, but geesh some of you guys need to grow up or at least act more mature.

k ill shut up. as far as this board being a lot different, yeah i agree....lots of kids are getting dsms now and its hard to control what they post...something needs to be done about the newbie questions and stuff cuz it gets old that they dont read the rules and search first...but we all have to start somewhere i guess....getting yelled at either turns them away or makes them search but you have to agree that the mods here are WAY cooler than the mods on that other board...at least they joke with us peons

I have been a member of talk for longer than tuners but like both places.

I think on talk it's harder to get with the "in" crowd and become a regular everyone recognizes even though there aren't as many people on at the same time.

Also I was interesting in becoming a moderator of a DSM site and on talk even though I'm a pretty well known member I was probably 5000000th in line for the throne, when DSMTuners started I knew it was a young site that could use more knowledgeable members so I figured I could help out more here than on talk which already was established and had alot of great members.

There are some things I don't agree with on talk, but you will never agree with 100% of what anyone says.

On talk you have to post quite a bit, and in areas like help tech to start to become recognised.. But I like the lower BS level there. Just my opinion though, no need to flame

I like Talk's Parts Talk/Review (I freaking whore those theads when have $$$ to spend ). Though the Classifieds is a nice touch here in Tuners.

Both have diff sig rules which change week-to-week

I started posting on Talk awhile before I posted here. At first I liked it becasue of the tech. I could go and search find what I wanted and move on. I very rarely posted just read alot, but when I posted it seemed like the mods took everything as a personal attack or questioning there abilites. They are the elite in the DSM world, but having a fast DSM doesnt give them the right to be assholes. Thats is why I never poested on NABR becasue I dont like there attitude. Its a 14 year old DSM, they are not that cool for making it fast.

I lurked on here and Talk for about a year. I like it here more. It seems friendlier? I dunno... DSMtalk seems kind of intimidating to me.

My friend had a 90 with a Type s, then he put the same Type s on his new 93, which had the same exact mods as the 90, and asked out of curiousity why it wasn't as loud (reasonable question, yes?). Everyone there called him a ricer.

I'm not a big fan of Talk either. My sig had a the same size pic as the one on here and they took it out and told me I should read the rules. Funny how all of the moderators pics are twice the size as mine.

ive asked countless #'s of dumb/noob questions...i still do...if i get made fun of it doesnt bother me, just makes me strive that much harder to be faster than the guy talkin shit...or find them and kick em in the shin
