What gauges and pod to use?

What would be the right gauges to put in a car. I want to do boost and wideband, because I dont think that there are anymore that are necessary??? are those the only 2 I would need? I was wondering because I dont know if I should order a 2 pod or 3 pod pillar. I cant think what should go in the 3rd slot?.....oil pressure maybe? what do you guys have? is it nessesary to have 3? or is 2 fine?...car is all stock with mild mods going in at a slow pace, as money allows.


Also are there better brands out there to get than others? any recommendations? I was thinking about innovative motorsports gauges.

Whatever you do, I recommend the pod that sits on the pillar. I ordered two gauges and got the pod that sits inside the in-dash with the gauges on opposite ends...after i installed them, i have a hard time reading my boost gauge because my turn signal arm and steering wheel are in the way! I have to relocate my gauges soon and i'm going to do it on the driver side.

i got the set of 3 gauges off ebay with pillar for around $100, boost, oil press. and a/f, the pillar fits a little loose, but the gauges work good, but i think its better than spending $50+ for just the gauges

The color and texture match OEM interior perfectly. The full pillars look so stock, I've had people ask me if the car came that way or if I put it in, seriously. The price is right, too.

For gauges: If you go two, one of them should be a boost gauge. If you choose to get an A/F gauge, do yourself a favor and get a wideband O2 setup. For a third slot, EGT, Water Temp, or Oil Pressure, depending on what you think is more important. Most people swear by Autometer, since they're dependable and come in a variety of shapes and colors. I have a VDO boost gauge, and I'm totally happy with that too.

In my car I am going to block off the vents. They do nothing for me. I normally have them closed off because the other vents work very well for me.

For a third slot, EGT, Water Temp, or Oil Pressure, depending on what you think is more important. Most people swear by Autometer, since they're dependable and come in a variety of shapes and colors. I have a VDO boost gauge, and I'm totally happy with that too.

To answer whats more important, wideband reads the exhaust tempature anyways, and water you will know when its overheating. Oil pressure is the only thing that you cannot tell inside a car while its going down the road without a gauge.

On my last car I had all apexi gauges installed. The three were boost, egt, and oil pressure. I had it installed in an a-pillar pod. Looks great. I got my pod on gaugepods.com great product.

You may want an oil pressure gauge too. Most of the stock oil gauges on the 2g's are crazy and not very accurate.

Yup!!! I would recommend a boost, egt, oil pressure for now. Then later fuel pressure and wideband O2.

I only use Lotek gauge pods.. The fit is great and they match very well Looks like it came from the factory like that!

Gauge wise don't waist money on the lights show A/f get a real one.. Boost is a must. Along with EGT..
